Apparently T? are being featured on the Evening Sequence with Tom Robinson tonight on BBC 6music. The feature is on at 9pm (check website just in case!) and is the first part in an ‘Alternative Ulster documentary’. According to the promo’s this morning on 6music tonights show focuses on Therapy?

Might be worth a listen.

Cheers

A few people have, though. Martin even discussed what it sounded like on WoM during his ‘downtime’ from the band.

Really enjoyed that! A very good history of the band and some good tunes thrown in! When was the last time T? had 30 mins on a UK radio station?

There were some memorable quotes on there. On tour with Spiritualized - “it was as if Guns and Roses had arrived in town”.

I also enjoyed the story of when the band turned up in Poland expecting a small hall (Empire size) and discovered they’d sold out a stadium of 25,000! - “They can afford tickets but they can’t afford the album!”

It was a great documentary with several more good stories! Judging by the response on here not too many heard it! Shame!

The only worrying point is Andy’s quote at the end when talking about the future after High Anxiety. He said that the band have “at least another good album in us yet”.

This T? fan hopes they have way more than that!!!

Agreed. That little remark at the end had me a little worried :(

I liked the comment about Spiritualized - they always seem like wankers when I read interviews with them. “It’s about the music, not how your corduroy jacket looks at a photo shoot”.

yes I understand ‘at least’ but sometimes it’s said with an undertone! I hope not. But bands who loses members etc…

So ‘at least’ doesn’t mean the next wil be ‘a good’ one, necessarelly, right?

So as long as we tell them it’s not the best they make another one?

Probably ‘at least’ because they’re working on material for it already and are pleased with what they’ve got(?). I’d be more worried if it they said ‘two more albums’… I wouldn’t like what that implied…

I will see if i can copy the audio stream and convert it to mp3.

I can’t get onto the FTP site so would you like it chopped up into smaller sections for possible inclusion on the site?

If it works then i can do the same for the Bruce Dickinson show.

Right, its all done now. chopped up into 5 mp3’s for easier distribution and to be nice to people with a 56k connection.

Now that i have them i am not entirely sure what will become of them but here are the stats on them in case anyone is interested for emailing or hosting reasons.

Clip 1 - 5m43s - 6.54mb

Clip 2 - 5m45s - 6.59mb

Clip 3 - 5m06s - 5.83mb

Clip 4 - 6m30s - 7.44mb

Clip 5 - 5m40s - 6.49mb

All clips are encoded at 160k to keep the sound quality reasonably high.

I will do the same for the Bruce Dickinson broadcast this weekend.

Now all thats left is for somebody to come up with a use for these files.

Let me know here or email gill@yermaw.org

Title: BIT RATE’s

just a couple tips about bit rate’s that might be helpful…

… there will be no drop in quality if you drop the bit rate of the files down to approx 80kbps as the stream itself is streamed at an average of 50-90kbps anyway… so… by making the bit rate as high as 160kbps your only increasing the file size as opposed to adding quality… as you cant add quality if the original source was of a lesser quality [unless mastering techniques are employed]…

… the benefit of reducing the bit rate would be that the files would be much smaller in size… you might even be able to shave the size of each file down to just above half the size they are now without any quality loss…

… make a copy of the files before you try converting them and then compare them once you have done it… you’ll see what I mean…

[another note… if you can bring your bit rate down as low as 16kbps… you can stream the files for those on dial-up… althought the quality will be about the same as an AM radio broadcast]

If only it was Tom Robinson. The documentary is voices by the wonderfully enigmatic Stuart Bailie. Might sample his wonderfully emoted “you must kiss me!” line. My 70 year old neighbour could put more feeling into those lines.

Great interviews if you can ignore his voice though.
