I think the song is about…Diane. Since the song is a cover of one of their all-time favourite bands I think they just chose the song because they liked it and not to transmit their opinion about someone.
I don’t think THERAPY? is the kind of band to hold any grudges to anyone.

Diane is a cover version. It’s written by Grant Hart for his former band Hüsker Dü (no, they’re not Swedish but from Minneapolis, MN). The original version can be found on their Metal Circus EP from 1983.
The song is about the raping of a girl from the view of the rapist. It’s based on a true story.

Nice touch, shame you couldn’t get the cracked lettering effect as well.

German keyboards provide you with these nice little umlauts. :)

I think somewhere in another thread someone said Diane was a friend of Grant Hart’s who got murdered…

If you really want to use it - hold alt and type 129 on the number keys on the right hand side of the keyboard…

ü - it is quite sad that i know this - and even sadder that i felt it necessary to share it with you!

…but it does let you type stuff like Mötley Crüe!

Excellent memory, Hooch. It would’ve been brilliant if you had remembered that that someone was me. :( Here’s the link. I was too lazy to search for it, but you made me do it.

I read at some point that one of Andy’s friends had been attacked which made him want to cover the song… dunno if that’s true or not. The single royalties went to rape charities I think too.

Some useless stuff:

Husker Du is Norwegian/Swedish for “Do You Remember”. It’s actually written without the umlauts, so why they added them I don’t know.

You guys think you’ve got anything with umlauts, hah, I’ve got ü, æ, ø and å. Mwahahaha!

Back on topic:

Chris McCormack, he of 3 Colours Red fame, interviewed Bob Mould in Metal Hammer in 1999 I think and asked him what he thought of T?s cover and he said it was “okay”.

Cheers for the translation. By the way, one of the first songs they ever recorded is called “Do You Remember”.

*lol* I dunno. Back then I liked it. Right now I definitely prefer the guy dressed-up and not so oily. But if he wants to he should feel free to lie on any fucking rock he likes. :D

Where can I get a suit in cork? Is it comfortable to wear?

Slightly less comfortable than a suit in pork, but lasts longer, and can save your life in a boating accident.

Was fit-bird-with-cello not with them then? Or was that just 95?
