no encore!? (that’s my ONLY complaint!)

actually… i have more complaints… but fuck that! now is not the time!

unreal! one of the best gigs i’ve ever been to, purely cos i stuck it out up the front and it was such a tiny place to see such an amazing band. hoooooly crap! and of course, getting to shake micheals hand *swoon* ehehe!

great venue, first time there, although for rulers of the planet we stuck to the back (ish) and we couldn’t see shit. so ya just gotta be up the front really.

i sorta missed what andy said about the WOMbles, can anyone tell me exactly what he said?

love the way therapy? support drinking AND smoking with their all amazing lighter/bottle opener! ehe! excellent.. pity you can’t refill them though.

i so hope the guys enjoyed themselves as much as we did, and keep to the “it won’t be six years before it happens again” promise!

:)

*so need a shower..ick!*

Excellent gig! How cool was kicking off with Meat Abstract? Oh, and playing a snippet of Breaking the Law almost brought tears to my eyes!

One complaint though - they might have played a couple more songs. Even though it didn’t seem like a short gig to me, I’ve just realised they played nothing from the albums between HA and troublegum - no excuse for that really.

it was REALLY short…and also, did they play shortened versions of everything or was it just me???? maybe thats why u think it didn’t seem short mooneycult…cos they did play a lotta songs..just very quickly!

****while they were good i’ve seen them play better…but there was no other way i would have liked to spend my sunday the 2nd of may!!!!!****

My first time seeing them, waited 11 years for it, fucking loved the gig so much, bummed about the encore too, the rulerz said therapys set was an hour and a half, they played just over an hour. they dedecated a song to “everyone on the message boards, known as the wombles”. that was the reference to here.

Not a bad venue, needs air conditioning, the smell was wicked, didnt expect any less though. 250 sweating bodies jumping around the gaff.

Maybe it’s something to do with going back to being a three-piece?

That would seem logical. I don’t know how a lot of the songs would sound with just 1 guitar.

Well, they were playing Church of Noise and Sister as a three piece until recently. And all the HA stuff was written with a four piece in mind.

If they have to relearn how to play the fourpiece songs with a trio, then they’d presumably concentrate on learning HA before the other albums.

DOn’t know about Church of Noise and Sister. Maybe they got bored.

Well that was the greatest gig ever.
so i was the guy practically sitting down on the stage, giving andy a big hug after, i thought that was a big deal, but the fun hadnt even started yet.
My sister and her boyfriend decided we’d hang around on the off chance andy might come up for the pint which i bought him, and as luck would have it he did :)
To those of you who have never had the pleasure of speaking to mr. Cairns, may i say he is one of the soundest, most interesting, and funny persons i have ever spoken to.
he has my web addy now, and me phone number too, i told him if he ever needed support for an acoustic set give em a buzz.
Im still kinda in shock, it was great, just sitting chatting and drinking with him.
The old oak wanted his towel, which he signed for me, back so they could give it to some hotel, but there was no fucking way they were getting that back man.
i’ve never been to a greater gig understandably, ive always dreamt of telling andy just what their songs mean to me, and how many times theyve saved me, and i got that chance, and now im just, elated, over the moon.
ANdy said “thanks for including six mile water in your set” to me, jesus andy, thanks for writing it!
THANK YOU THERAPY?!
Love and peace

yeh mooney… no shameless songs.. no suicide pact songs… no semi detached songs… that was really disappointing. and no voodoo doll! dammit!

seen em twice before, other gigs(set lists) were better, but atmosphere in the oak beat the other 2 hands down.

as for air conditioning.. as small as the place is, its still nowhere near as bad as the village.

Yeah, great gig - starting with “Meat Abstract” was a touch of class. Very few post Troublegum songs which wasn’t cool, but the sheer madness of the rest of the set saved the day.

I thought Rulers Of The Planet were great as well, they’re sound blokes too.

The Rulers… were excellent. A really great warm-up act.

THERAPY?’s set was pretty short. And there were a lot of great songs missing which was a shame. I was right up the front in front of Andy. He even took a few swigs from my beer bottle a couple of times.
It was even me who asked him to dedicate a song to us WOMbles.

But the energy from the crowd was incredible. There was this girl underneath me at one point. She must have been only four foot tall. I’d say I did everything to her, bar raping the poor girl. Felt really bad for her. The stage is dangerously low, too. I’d say some of the people in the middle must have had broken shins by the end of it.

As for no encores…!!! I saw from the setlist on the stage floor that there were supposed to be 2 more songs at least. As soon as the band finished the crowd practically swarmed the stage for autographs and stuff. They didn’t get a chance to play them.

Great fucking gig… One of the best Therapy? gigs I have been to, crowd were mighty, great athmosphere… definitely the best band in the world!

But I agree with what the others said, T? need to vary the setlist… that was my third gig in the last 9 months or so, and the setlist was very similar… 4 albums were completley untouched.. what about Diane, sixmilewater, Straight Life, Lonely cryin only, He is not thta kind of girl, etc… I know the fact they are now a 3 piece causes problems, but they can surely rework some of the songs…I am going to see them next Monday, and I am sure the 45 minute set will not contain any surprises..

That said, I would go and see them every week even if they did play the same setlist time after time… And they are getting better and better looking at HA!!!

what you have to remember about the songs betweeen t.gum and HA is that they were written as a 4piece and so have guitar harmonies and multiple parts that you can’t do as a threee piece. andy told me they were playing straight life but the pedal he used to mimic martin’s part (some kind of harmoniser) broke so they had to drop it from the set.
great venue too. so good to see t? in such a small place where they’re right up in front of you.

She was my buddy Jobrock & she felt violated ;-p. Only messin - she loved it. What a cracking gig. I’ve no complaints - my shins and back are in shit - definately needed a barrier - I had to kneel on the stage for the last few songs. Great crowd - great set. Hopefully that dude with the minidisc will be in touch

Cool!!!! I had my eye on that but was too far away.

I did get Andy’s pleck. And yelled as loud as I could across at Neil who came over quickly and gave me a drumstick. Well chuffed with myself…

I hope somebody recorded it too!

The crowd really made the night though. Every last one of us were just gagging for it. I can barely remember the last few songs, it was so intense. I was just trying to keep from being buggered myself.
That said. Lets hope we don’t have to wait so long for the next Cork gig.

I must say, I can’t remember “Trigger Inside” being played, but I do remember Andy giving us the option of “Isolation” or “Church Of Noise” - of course, Isolation won the vote. So I guess we have ourselves to blame for nothing being played from IL, SD, SP or Shameless.

Was talking to the lads from Rulers of the Planet afterwards - they said T? were unbelievable, and it made their night when the Rulers got a huge cheer from the crowd when Andy thanked the support bands.

REALLY ENJOYED IT!!!!!

ALL THIS TALK ABOUT WHAT SONGS THEY DID PLAY AND DIDNT IS PRETTY POINTLESS IN MY OPINION!!!!!

THERE’S ALWAYS GOING TO BE SONGS THAT PEOPLE FEEL WERE LEFT OUT AND STUFF…

THEY CANT PLAY EVERYTHING…

HAVING SAID THAT, I WOULD LOVE IF THEY PLAYED AT LEAST ONE SONG FROM INFERNAL LOVE ALRIGHT (AND NOT THE OBVIOUS ONE, STORIES!) I JUST LOVE THIS ALBUM AND THINK IT GOT SOME VERY BAD PRESS ETC…

ALL IN ALL IT WAS A GREAT NIGHT…

BRILL TO SEE THAT THE BOYS ARE STILL WILLING TO PLAY THE SMALL VENUES…

COME BACK SOON…
