Hi Soul Doubt,
It’s not that i’m not into cd-r as such. It’s more that i’m getting on a bit now and after collecting for 30 years or more, i’m now surrounded by more vinyl, cassettes, cds, dats and md than I have years left to enjoy them! Video trading is done at a much slower pace ;)
Just a thought but if either you or Denim Demon have access to a dvd burner we might be able to sort out a Belgian vine thus cutting out most of the notoriously dodgy Belgian airmail service ;)

In the trading community that I am most active in, we are attempting to archive video footage to dvd from the best available tape sources. It’s a huge task but the advantage of dvd-r is that we can eliminate further generational degradation by doing bit-for-bit copies on the pc :)
I’m sure we can come to some arrangement Alan. Actually i’d quite like to remaster one of your better videos to dvd-r for re-release back into T?raderland if that would be of any interest?

Screen54 - I’d be willing to send you my originals if you want to transfer them to DVD. I have a few masters (ie stuff recorded direct from TV) and I can probably provide you with info on who I got my other stuff from (ie the tapers info) if you wanna track down the master copies.

Well, that’s fine by me but please be aware that the audio on this disc is encoded at 384kbps so it would be the equivalent of making an audio cd from mp3. OK, the sound is not great…particularly light in the bass but if there would be interest in an audio only disc, I can quite easily lift it from the tape which is 16 bit stereo? Having said that, surely someone got it to dat/md?
