Friends = rubbish. Fact!

Jennifer Aniston = David Duchovny in a wig. Fact!

Best sitcoms =

Seinfeld (although there were a lot of shit episodes)
Blackadder 1 - 4
Bottom Series 1 - 3
Fawlty Towers

I’ll refrain from putting stuff like South Park, the Simpsons, King of the Hill, Futurama etc on that list because they’re cartoons :)

Also, I think shows like Sopranos and Six Feet Under are a million times more funny than the really shitty US-sitcoms where the “comedy” is based around bathroom hangups and “hilarious” domestic arrangements. Oh, I know, we’ll get the father in-law to move in with the happy couple and all comedic pandemodium sets in! NO IT BLOODY WELL DOESN’T! There is nothing funny about Joey “not getting it”, Ross being horribly neurotic or Chandler’s “witty” comebacks and comments. Good riddance.

I don’t think Channel 4 has shown these episodes yet but they were on Irish TV a few months ago.

I never liked Seinfield,i just couldn’t get into that show.
I have to agree with Joe shows like The Sopranos,Six Feet Under and also Nip/Tuck have more humour in them than most American sitcoms.

With Seinfeld, you really need to know people who are like the characters on the show, and you need to sift through a fair few shit episodes.

The first episode of Nip/Tuck was on here last night and it was brilliant! :D Thanks for the head’s up! Do you like the Shield btw?

Anyone seen ‘Kingdom Hospital’ yet?
A mix between ER, X-Files and David Lynch. Very interesting and strange entertainment, just keep missing it.

We had to watch a tiny bit of it in Media Analysis. Some guy was moaning that only he could authorise a scan or something. Seemed pretty weird!

It’s so sad that Michael J. Fox has been diagnosed with Parkinson. Although he wasn’t in many good movies, he was in the best (that’s right, “Back To The Future”) and he was always funny no matter what role he played.

Anyway, on topic: I love “Friends” myself. It’s stupid but effective humor. And that whole discussion about there being no black people in the series, well… I don’t think it was done on purpose to discriminate anyone or something. Seems a bit far fetched to me.

And well, “Teen Wolf” is a guilty pleasure.

When I was in London I caught an episode of a sitcom called “Black’s Books”. Nearly laughed my ass off. A bookseller myself I somehow felt I’d knew how those guys are ticking. Does anyone at least know that show?

Never heard of it, but now I know why you love Ellen.
Any reading recommendations? After finishing The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons by Dan Brown I’m going to read Vernon God Little by DBC Pierre next.

Yeah, the book-store. I know what You mean. But I liked the show anyway. Ellen is a lot like me (not in her sexual preferences), I think. Seems I tend to babble. At least my friends say so. Well, I mean, not babble-babble, but in a way it’s more like that other kind of babbling, if you know what I mean… Ummmmm… Alrite, I’ll keep quiet.

Oh, does anyone in here like that show “Teachers”? I spent the weekend watching the Season 1 DVD of the show… what do you mean, sad? It’s a great show, good mix of humour and “drama”.

Black books is very cool, and pretty surreal, though I’ve not seen as many episodes as I’d have liked. My favourite is the one in the first series, where Manny gets locked into the shop by their preposterous security system, and has to live off of dead bees and Absinthe. :D

Because I moved back to Norway this year I missed Season 3 of Teachers :( Hopefully it’ll be re-run when I move back to Britain. I’ve heard it was crap though.

I thought Season 2 was a bit lacking, but I guess they couldn’t just recycle all the storylines from Season 1. I’m still buying it though, along with Season 2 of I’m Alan Partridge :D

I used to watch The Book Group, but again, I’ve not seen any episodes since about July last year. It was funny though.

Coogan has said he doesn’t want to do Partridge anymore and that he wants to go off to Holywood to be a star…

…shame cause its one of the only funny things he has ever done

The amount of times I’ve said “kiss my face” or “back of the net” since watching Alan Partridge is scary. It’s definitely the best thing Coogan has done - don’t really care much for Paul Calf or any of his other characters.

I quite like Philip from I Am Not An Animal, though I only saw a couple of episodes.

If it would be that easy. The only english shows on german TV are “All things great and small”, “Mr. Bean” and “Upstairs, Downstairs”. Amazing, huh? Alrite, the first season of “Manchild” was very well hidden in the night programme of a station I never turn to… But apart from that… Only US crap. I’d die to see some UK comedy shows.

Sorry for that. At least I’m glad I remembered the original titles correctly. Did the minister shows run on any programme the last ten years? Can remember them, but that’s so long ago…

The last time I remember was around 1991 on N3.
