I also bought The Holy Bible delux version off amazon for £4.98 , how can they get away with selling such a quality package for so little. I’m happy with that purchase.
I’m glad I ventured into this thread now or I would of missed out on hearing about that bargain.
:)

It’s a bit weird because I bought their new album, listened to it twice or three times. And that’s all, I’ve got enough of it.

Don’t you seriously think that the cure riffs are too much easy found. I like The Cure but for a while not of any of their new album slap me since disintegration. Expect bloodflower that I didn’t listen to it anymore for a fucking long time, and Wild mood swing on summer time sometimes… I wonder wether the Cure still make me dream. As Robert smith often sings : it’s always the same.

Amazon are sly bastards, they say postage is only 2p if your items over a fiver, so the fuckers make sure this is 2 pence under a fiver to get 1.50 out of you for postage.
but its still a good deal 6 quid 50 for 2 discs and a dvd.

@ Gimme Back My Brainsaw & Not That Kind Of Guy : Do you really think that 4:13 dream is one of the Cure best ones ? In addition UK Top 10 !!! No The Cure have already done a couple one better than that. In the 80’s.

Whether it is as good or not as good as some of their 80’s material should detract from the fact that it is a very good album and worth a punt from anyone with a passing interest in the band.

Of course Dennis, The cure has a 30 years long career and hasn’t anything to prove to anybody. I personnally think whenever the first time I heard 4:13 dream that it’s highly better than the previous self-titled one. It’s a bit strange, i listen to it more and more often… Short, What do you think of songs like Play, Halo or This Twilight garden ? About sound of the guitars ; tune.

So, what do those who have it think of the 3 previously unreleased demos on the new Disintegration re-release?
I think No Heart is very good - I can easily see how that could’ve been developed further into a full song of the same style and quality as the tracks that ended up on the album. Esten is a bit too poppy compared to what ended up on the album, so I can see why they didn’t take that one further. And Delirious Night… pretty disappointing, to be honest. As the only one with vocals, I had higher hopes for it. Not bad though, I suppose.

I listen to it regularly, so I’ve been more on the Live and Rarities CDs. All the rarities CDs on these re-releases are good from a “that’s quite interesting” point of view, but they’re things I’ll listen to a few times out of curiosity and then probably not bother with again. I might make a playlist of the few particularly good previously unreleased tracks from them all… so just No Heart from this one and one or two from each of the others.

Ok, something else, as I can’t be bothered to read through this thread :-) What are everyone’s favourite albums by The Cure, and what do you think of the last couple?
Just to be simple - something I’m often accused of - I’ll list the albums with a score out of 10 for my opinions on them:
Three Imaginary Boys —- 4
Seventeen Seconds ——- 7
Faith ———————— 9
Pornography ————— 10
The Top ——————— 8
The Head on the Door —- 7
Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me- 8
Disintegration ————- 10
Wish ————————- 9
Wild Mood Swings ——— 7
Bloodflowers ————— 10
The Cure ——————- 9
4:13 Dream —————- 8… or 9 :-)…and relax.
