Where to buy the new album

#

Started by Karl

Where do you all buy you CD’s on-line from? I got Scopophobia from Play.com as advised by a WoM regular, and that did save money, but I don’t want to get ripped by Amazon again for the new albbum when it comes.

Thanks

Play.com rocks very hard. Been using them for 2 years now and haven’t had any problems.

Better backcatalogue on Amazon though.

Right enough plugging. Where are my freebies Play.com?

Stick with play.com like the others have said.

I buy all my DVDs and about half my CDs from them now. I pre-ordered the new 3 Colours Red album from them and more than likely I’ll do the same with the new Therapy? album.

I swear by Play.Com I have been using them for about a year now and they have never got an order wrong, also cheap as chips.

I CAN’T buy from play.com.

I ordered Super Mario Sunshine from them ages ago, and I got an error from them saying that the transaction didn’t go through because my address details were incorrect. I checked my account, and the address was IDENTICAL to that on my bank statements, and I had definately put my switch card details in correctly.

I rang the bank up, and they said they hadn’t refused any transaction from play.com, and that they were talking rubbish.

I tried to put the order through again, but it didn’t work.

Apparently my account is now blacklisted because their own system doesn’t really work.

Don’t you guys have any decent record shop in your vicinity, you know: a building that you enter through the door and where you find shelves full of cds. :)

It’s a novel idea… Hmm, it’s so crazy that it might just work. YOu should patent that. :D

I’d like to but I have all my money going into another idea. I’ll wipe those dvds off the market with a new system called Betamax. :)

Therapy?s albums are hard to come by here in Oslo. E-tailing is fast, fuss-free and usually cheaper than the shops. Plus you don’t have to listen to Franz Ferdinand or whatever else rubbish they’re playing in the shop.

Quite like Franz ferdinand.
The album was surprisingly easy to listen to.

I only buy online now. It’s great for getting the special edition stuff and the old singles etc.

I’m going to try http://www.musicontheweb.co.uk/

They have some old singles.

My solution to the crap music in shops is to loudly go ‘LALALALALA!!’ until it’s all over. They tend to serve you quicker, too.

*Mr Burns voice* Betamax, eh? *strokes chin* Sign me up for some shares, it’s always good to be hip and down with what the kids want. I can smell money from miles away and you, Mr Allroy, smell good.

Hehe - my nearest record shop is 6.5 miles away in Blackburn - so thats 25 minute drive, £3 to park, £16 quid for the album off those moneygrabbing bastards at HMV (if they decide to stock it!) and you have to look through the shelves whilst avoiding all the students endlessly browsing with no intention of buying, all the single mums with their prams chatting & blocking all the isles and all the crackheads stuffing their puffa jackets with all the rest of the stock to fund their scagg habbit!

I used to love going to record shops but now its just a fucking chore! - it’ll probably be £9.99 from play i think - it will probably arrive the weekend before the release date anyway!

Right, thank you all, it looks like play.com is the winner. Wouldn’t it be nice to buy it from Rene for a tenner, a couple of weeks before the official release.

The worst thing about HMV’s and Virgins (the shops) is the checkout people. You give them your CD or DVD and they look at you as if you’ve just eaten their first-born.

My friend the internet does not judge me for the stuff I buy. I’ll leave that to the courts.

You dont know the half of it - One way systems, endless traffic lights and digging up roads seems to be one of the councils favourite passtimes…

Don’t use play much, but it’s generally good. CDwow, if they have the album, is good too, £8.99 including shipping or less on nearly everything there.
I buy most of my CDs from shops, though, wherever I may be at the time. There’s something satisfying about looking through the shelves, picking up a disc and walking out of the shop with it.

they are now removed from my possible music suppliers, they have no Misfits!!!!!! plus the T? they have are just five albums, all on CD, which i could go and buy off my mate for a fiver each!

why don’t y’all try MVC? most of there DVD’s are pretty cheap, for example: Dogma £5.99

and for those who have failed to see the way of Jay and Silent Bob, i suggest buying Dogma, it’s a fukin awesome film:):p:D
