Do the evolution

Quote (author unknown):

taken from Andy’s diary entry
Myself and michael were thinking of putting something up on the site to show you how the song have taken shape this album. for example, we’ll take a track and post up it’s various stages as individual sound files. so you would have a four track tape of the guitar, bass, drum machine and vocal melody done on a four track at my house by myself and michael followed by a rehearsal tape version from the Hive in derby with neil on drums and the new arrangement by the band, after that the version from stanbridge farm rehearsal studios played live by the band with added producer input from pete bartlett and finally the finished version or maybe a first ‘mix’ version of the finished article. make sense?

What a fuckin’ brilliant idea. Go for it , please.

sounded REALLY interesting, I’ll put my both hands up and wote for that they show us how the songs have “built”… I really appreciate if they do this.

Do it, do it, do it, do it!!!!!!! :D

It would be a fantastic idea, and give a real insight to how the band works in the studio.

I’m a bit skeptical! Weezer did that and it completely ruined “Maladroit” for me. I could never accept the final versions as finished.

as interesting as the whole sound clips thingy is, the bit out of andy’s diary entry that i liked the most was that “current listening” was “pornography” by the cure. one of my top 5 albums ever!

Sounds like a decent idea. If I get as much of a laugh as I did with the GayBar mp3 from the diary entry then bring it on :D

It took Michael nine months longer than us wombles to discover the Gay Bar mix (cheers again, Bad Karma).
As they seem to like it they should use it as either intro or outro for their next shows.

Title: T? at the gay bar

i downloaded the song yesterday, didn´t discover it before, i should read the threads on the w.o.m. more often ;)
stuff like that song was played at a local radio station here in germany 2 years ago and they called it bastard pop, when they mixed 2 songs “over each other”.
the original gay bar song was played one week ago at a party, next time i will ask the dj to play the “Therapy? gay bar song”

Bastard pop is the ‘official’ name of it. Though you have a lot of crap mixes (most of the stuff MTV does for their show Bash).
One of my faves is the Madonna / The Hives mix of Music & Hate To Say I Told You So.

And not to forget the grand seigneurs of this genre, 2 Many DJs aka Soulwax.

a great bastard pop song they had ta mtv bash was nell’s country gramar and green days basket case. both songs to me are the worst pieces of crap, but the mix made me do a little dance.

In almost all cases of this, I’ve found fans saying “no, I preferred the demo versions/unmastered versions” to some extent. Happens all the time. I’ll be waiting for the album, myself. I love to get the final product home and experience it as one thing first time through.

i disagree on the whole green day thing there, but nellie’s countrie grammer is a shite song so yeah, i guess i’ll let you off!

anyway, i think T? should do the whole “song developement” mp3’s, so we, as fans, get to have a look deeper into T?’s life and get closer to them, i can smell Andy already.;)

Maybe for this song developement idea T? should do some artwork and call it a download only EP.
