Writing a CV

#

Started by MR POO!

Anyone got any tips on writing a good one. I think its time i updated mine cos its a bit out of date and to be honest a bit crap.

Is there any decent sites out there that show you some examples of good ones? I guess i just need to see a good one as a guide and then try and apply my information to it.

Try this as a starter.
I just searched for ‘american cv’, as this seems to be the most popular style at the moment (at least in Germany).

I used the template on Robertwalters.com and basically tweaked it for every job I applied for. There’s some good advice on totaljobs.com as well. I would imagine that Monster.co.uk is also a good place to look.

Depending on the industry you’re looking to get into, I’d also advise you to find some recruitment agencies that work in that industry & see if they have any advice or templates on their sites (Robert Walters is mainly finance & accounting jobs).

I once found something good and useful on Monster.com. Can’t be bothered looking for it now though.

If in doubt, lie through your teeth. Here are a few tips: -

-You were president of Paname for 15 years till a military coup.
-You toured with the Stones as a Guitar technician.
-You once took a bullet for Madonna in Vienna.
-You are psychic.

Happy job-hunting! :D

I remember Neil Gaiman saying that he lied on his cv about all the places he worked for and after a few years every single one of them was true… If that’s how things work, I like your cv better. ;)

We had civil war, genocide and Celtic started winning the league every year. It was dreadful.

So it’s still King Idi the Umpteenth.

But with Larsson gone the good times will return.

then you should go one step further:

- You’re 12 ft. tall
- God sent you
- You are the Beelzebub
- you’ve written Beethoven’s 5th symphony
- you created the world (esp. those beautiful Norwegian fjords)

:D

If I am to learn how bad losers Gers are I better not. I can’t beleive the Gers fans have even got the guts to come out and say that their team is great! BOLLOCKS !!! Second to Celtic for ever, never won a european cup (as celtic has done) and cause I am Greek I will remind you 3 times you got your arses kicked by Greek teams. AEK, Panathinaikos AND PAOK Salonika. And out you went from the Champions League and the UEFA Cup. Well better for their fans cause I do wonder how much more pain can you stand with your rubbish team? So mother don’t talk to me about how good you are because you are CRAP CRAP CRAP !!!

Oh boy, you’re really sick.

Look here and learn how one can deal with rivalry.

By the way, Rangers may have gone out to Greek teams, but what about Celtic? The last time they played a Greek team was against Olympiakos back in 1974/75 in the first round of the Champions Cup…
…and they went out 1-3 on aggr.

I’m a bit disappointed but not surprised about your behaviour, ‘coz I’ve encountered Greek football fans before, sorry to say that.

I’ve been to Craven Cotttage ten days ago and have to say the new team look good and the fans have been great as always.
But enough of it as it’s going to far off topic and before it’s getting personal.

Dream on … :D That will never happen. Rangers to conquer Europe? It never happened, it will never will …

And by the way because you mentioned Greek fans, when we were in Glasgow last year that we beat you badly enough, if your fans wouldn’t be provocative and thinking that they are great and have a great team, they wouldn’t go to the police complaining about got beaten up … Chickens … Stand up and face the pain … Only that way you will conquer the world … Enough said … See you soon… :o

Bite me. You don’t know anything about me. Think I’m some kind of kappa wearing ned blue-nose? I’m just a sportfan who grew up with Rangers. I don’t affiliate with people who bring bigotry or violence into the sport.

Just because I’m a Rangers fan doesn’t mean I am a close-minded violent fanatic.

And yes, they will be great again.

The moral of the story is say that you play for an SPL side on your CV. Nobody watches so nobody will be able to prove you wrong!

On my application to Uni I said that I enjoy sex with marsupials (and other woodland creatures), cutting myself and that I was that first man on the moon.

I didn’t get in to that particular uni, although mainly because I didn’t have the grades.

My main bit of CV writing advice would be don’t lie - per se - but do reword things to make them sound more interesting.

For example being an active member of the T? Message Board could be described as taking an active interest in music and writing reviews and other related articles.

Blag away, dude, hope it gets you somewhere.
