moving

Last week, my boyfriend and I moved in together. After a lot of painting and putting up wallpaper and other stuf, the apartment was finally ready for the furniture. We called the furniture store where we bought our things THREE months ago, turns out half wasn’t even in their warehouse.

Then they came with the things that were there, they couldn’t get the couch in, because they brought the wrong elevator(after we specifically told them four times it had to go under a carport to reach the back of the building. According to the salesguy there was absolutely no problem with that. Yeah right).

Yesterday second attempt for the couch. We arranged for a different elevator with a different company. The guy there assured us it would be the right elevator to use. Well, not. It couldn’t go under the carport.

Tommorrow, last time we try. I hope it will work out.

Anyone else some “nice” annecdotes of a move, or is it just with us that everything goes wrong.

i hope you first put on the wallpapers and then painted it…or else it makes not really a sense, or?

well my experience with moving is: better do the stuff on your own, then by a so cold professionell “painter and wallpaper on the wall-puter”

i friend of my sister is such one “professionell” and i’m not very happy with his results…for example he was so smart and left old nails in the wall, and just put the wallpaper over it…and now i have everywhere nice little brown spots from the nails…

and the stupid silicon on my bath starts getting of too…

but as i don’t plan to stay too long here, i think it’s not worth it to put too much money in it…

painting was done in the livingroom and the wallpaper was used in the bedrooms.

painting first and then putting up wallpaper doesn’t make sense, that’s true, but when we were shopping for wallpaper, a lady came to the counter to ask which paint she had to use to put on the wall she wanted the wallpaper on.

If the colour the wall’s painted in is very ugly, wallpapers are the only way to save the day. So in case one didn’t get a decent colour, wallpaper over the paint seem ok to me. :D

just found out that the furniturefactory is closed till mid august . Eating of the floor a bit longer then(since we have no table)

then we have to wait probably an other month before everything is produced.

gf: where do you work? Can you guarantee us a better deliverytime?

The company is established very close to the Belgian border. It just depends on what you’re looking for, if we have it in stock and if it has to be delivered or whether you could take it home yourself. We still have ‘solden’..;)
