You seem to be more bothered about not being able to drive than the fact you could have killed someone.

If it was up to me you wouldn’t even be allowed to own a bicycle.

If you ever get your license back, do you think you’ll drink & drive again, or will this time definitely be the last?

You guys wouldn’t believe the ammount of drunk driver people I ran into (while driving taxi, mostly as them being passengers to and from the county jail) with the same mentality as Infernalover here. For them it will never be “I could have killed someone”, but “Blah, blah, excuse”. My personal favorite is still the bullshit cookie metaphore a guy spewed at me.

Him: They pulled me over for drunk driving, but it wasn’t fair.

Me: Huh?

Him: Well, you see, the first time I got pulled over my blood alcohol was .012, and the legal limit was .010.

Me: So you were very drunk.

Him: Yeah. But the second time I was .009, and after the first drunk driving it’s lowered down to .008. Is that fair?

Me: Yeah, sounds fair to me.

Him: Why? Think of it this way… if you were able to have 3 cookies, but got sick, and could only have 1 cookie from then on, would that be fair?

Me: Actually, that makes perfect sense, and sounds completely fair.

Him: But…

Me: Has a cookie ever killed someone? Alcohol is hardly a cookie.

Man, I wish I could have pushed him right out of the cab. I probably would have been awarded a medal.

Lots of people drive over the limit and don’t kill anyone, lots drive under the limit and do, so you can see where they’re coming from, but if you are over the limit
1) your chances of an accident dramatically increase
2) you’re breaking the law, the penalty for which is using your license or whatever. Did you not know? Were you in a vacuum for the last however many years? “I’m sorry I broke the law and am being punished accordingly…”

I try to keep clear of all booze if I know I’ve got to drive, doesn’t matter if it’s 5 miles or 100!

Otto Waalkes said it well. The Germans here might remember him.

c’mon guys
i was just driving home, slowly…
it seems that most of you think that if you exceed of a pair of beers you lose your sight or whatever…
i can’t believe none of you have never driven after drinking too much… i think it can happen..
i do not have an alcolimetric-test in my pocket! how do i know if i’m over or under the legal limit?? many times i walked home or let sombody else drive my car, but not that night ‘cause for me i was ok.. i was wrong..
NOW i know i should have walked home that night, but i didn’t…
For the future, i think i’ll buy that pocket alcol-test… it for about 45 E.
i’m sorry for those who had accidents with someone drunk, but it’s not my case.

bye bye..

I didn’t drink - therefore I know I’m under the limit
I had a drink, maybe two, maybe not - therfore I know I might be over the limit. Save yourself 45 euros by just doing one or the other, it’s not difficult.

The point is you had a drink or more and decided to get into a car. Easy as that.

You deserve to get a bit of trouble for that. From the law, from your friends and family and from us. It’s stupid.

Don’t want to do the time?… :D

I can save you those 45 Euro pretty easy: Don’t drive in the next two hours after having two beers!
That’s how I do it when going out and have the driving-job. I drink one, sometimes two beers when ariving at the pub/disco/whorehouse and that’s it. Worked for me.
