I’d like to say a big ‘thank you’ to the guys who developed the software for the online booking facilities at ticketmaster.
After the failure of getting tickets for the Pixies show at the Forum on August 20 (there seemed to be too many connections to the server so that my order timed out and wasn’t successful), I’ve come across some post in the Frank Black forum that despite being sold out within minutes you could still get tickets via ticketmaster by just ignoring the denial of your ticket request and posting it again and again.
After about two dozen tries I finally proceeded to the next stage, got my order confirmed and now also have the confirmation mail. Amazing.
To cut a long story short (hmm, seems hardly possible), did any of you ever come across something similar? I’d like to know why this happened, esp. if this might be a software failure (just curious for job reasons ;) ).
