Sony Music buys Eagle Rock…

i read an article today i dont know if its old news but anyway.
I read that Sony Music has bought Eagle Rock
or something legally close to that.
also the orticle mentioned the imminent releases:

Çeart-Jupiter’s Darling (CD-8/04)
Cat Stevens-Majicat: Earth Tour 1976 (DVD-8/04)
Foreigner-All Access Tonight: Hits Live (DVD-8/04)
Scorpions - Moment Of Glory (DVD-8/04)
The Doors- Live In Europe 1968 (DVD-8/04)

Willy De Ville-Crow Jane Alley (CD-9/04)
Therapy?-Never Apologise Never Explain (CD-9/04)

i guess that should mean a little bit better support
to the groups?

I wouldn’t bank on it. Universal bought out A&M and said to T? that they’d put them with one of their sub-labels. Then they turned around and said they had no deal!

I agree.. Just remembering what happened to the ‘artist formerly known as Prince’ who changed his name as a protest against Sony… And he also tattoeed some icon presenting ‘betrayed’ on to his cheek or something…

Sony just bought Music For Nations, and it seems effectively closed it down. Opeth and Anathema are just two bands without a label now. And MFN were the band that brought us Metallica in the UK. I worry about he majors buying the few indies left…

As far as i know Jive UK bought Music For Nations, so the label is a part of BMG now.
