Mine was U2 with BB king for “Loves comes to town tour” in December 1989 in Paris…My music tastes have also improved since ;) .For the U2 current fans who regularly post on the WOM and would take, what I said, very bad,I don’t say this band is a crap now (they’re still a good band on stage)…but I couldn’t identify myself to their music anymore…

the Love Town tour had some fucking ace versions of some of their songs, such as a much superior version of All Along The Watchtower than the busked version on Rattle and Hum…oh my god, a proper guitar solo from the Edge! Fab!

Oh yeah you’re right about “All along the Watchtower”Dennis.I got an audio tape of their gig in Dublin also in December 1989 for the new year’s Eve…and indeed,They really kicked ass with “All along…” with mixing a Part of “Like a song…” (an “obscure” song from their Album War :D )at the end of it,and The Edge ,indeed, ruled for the guitar solo ;).

Bloody hell! I taped that off the radio as well - fucking ace gig.. I have listened to that so many times it is unreal
I’d love a broadcast-quality CD of that, it’d be the best U2 thing in my collection, no question.

I was at that gig:)

Were you? haha, cool. :) Though I’m having doubts if it actually WAS the Troublegum tour, or before it. :/ The support band wore striped pyjamas, was that the same gig?
And some guy managed to climb up onto a part of the lighting rig at the side, ready to stagedive, then realised just how fucking high he was and saw sense. And climbed down, sheepishly. :D

The Lemonheads in February ‘94 - We went down at about 3 in the afternoon to hear the soundcheck. Evan Dando kissed me on the forehead and Dave said I had a nice hat. Being 13 was great :D

That is so not your first gig … I took you to see New Model Army when you were 2 and a bit! :D

My first gig was Iron maiden at the kings hall, was only 10 or 11 mind so i was only a child.
But i must say i am proud to say my second gig was going to a Nirvana concert with my brother in 1992 but again i was too young to appreciate it, i just remember being disapointed that kurt cobain just stood there and didnt thrash about and stuff like he did in their videos. And i remember seeing dave grohl running about with his bass drum on his back when they smashed stuff at the end.
Next gig was the mighty T? at the end of the Nurse tour at the Ulster hall.

My first gig was The Wildhearts at The Cambridge Junction in July 1997, supported by Groop Dogshit and it was shortly before they broke up and shortly after Ginger had his ribs broken by an overzealous Finnish security guard.

The sound was appalling, the support were worse, and it was Endless, Nameless era so most of the songs were little more than loud distorted noise. I was deaf for 4 days after, had a whale of a time, but on reflection it was wank.

The last gig I went to was of course Therapy? in Leeds
