It’s a great album! I suppose it is long, but it doesn’t feel it (at least not to me).

It just sounds like it has so many places where it could end, so I got that weird “Oh, another song!” feeling.

Pretty great all the way through though, and Fascination Street sounded really good.

Yeah, when I placed the pre-order I was under the impression that it would have the whole download set on there. Then a few days later I read that it was just 3 songs. Oh well. Glad you’re liking the album anyway - I know it’s hard to say from one listen, but how do you think it compares to Come What(ever) May?

Personally, its not as good as the last album, it has some good songs on it.. but it sounds more radio friendly and safe to me. They seem to say how they are stretching out but i don’t agree. They still have some big riffs and agressive vocals, but more a commercial approach for the chorus’s. Thre just isn’t as manly stand out tracks as last time. But it may grow on me more over time?

Just finished listening to the blue Them Bones 12” I found in Oxfam today. It’s got We Die Young, Got Me Wrong and Am I Inside. So, my four favourite Alice in Chains songs. :D

Sounds really great too. Layne’s voice sounded a lot warmer.

The one thing I really love on the album which is geeky is on the last song(apart from bonus tracks) threadbare is the copy of the drum beat in sound and feel to led zeppelins when the Levi breaks. It’s really well done.

Ah, I didn’t notice that - well, I wouldn’t have known anyway. Good album though. I enjoyed it more as it went on, don’t know if it’s because the songs were getting better or I’d just got used to the style by then. As you say, it is quite radio-friendly, more than I expected it to be.

Got to agree, awesome album but 3 discs? I appear to only have 2. The 2nd disc finishes with Spanish Castles in Space as track 5, what am i missing please?
