so will there be one version of N.A.N.E and another with an extra making of the album documentary? Or will that be on the album anyway.

I tried emailing spitfire but they referred to european part of spitfire and they didn’t reply.

Not sure what you your point is!?
That I should have started a new thread instead of following up in this one?
Ok, I admit I was lazy but I thought of it when I read the second post, it’s something I want to know before I preorder.
I blame it on beeing new to the board! (Thanks for the nice welcome though ;) )

If you mean what copy protection has to do with buying the cd it’s because I use an mp3 player to listen to all my music. If I can’t make mp3s of them its useless to me (other then beeing a part of a T? collection).

Even if it is copy protected, it’s usually no problem to rip it.
HA wasn’t copy protected, I dunno about other Spitfire releases, but I guess not.

PS: Here’s an old ripper thread.

Analogue ripping is how you get past copy protected cds. Use a program that records everything that goes through your sound card and record the album being played. I’ll be doing this if it’s copy protected, I have my entire music collection on my computer as its easier to manage and listen to.

Yup. Every CD I buy goes onto my Computer at work and onto my Computer at home. That way I can leave CD’s in my alarm clock or don’t have to touch them again.

It’s also the principle of it. Even if you can rip it I wouldn’t want to support a company that doesn’t let me rip the music to my mp3 player. As much as it would pain me to not buy the new Therapy cd I would try to resist if it was copyprotected.

99% of all new cds gets released on the internet before the store release anyway, copy protection or no copy protection. the only persons they stop is the average Joe who wants to play the disc in a car stereo, dvdplayer or computer.
They can even destroy computers/DVD players

there are other ways to copy cd’s that are protected. you should find the way to skip every protection around the net. if you rip in analogue mode you’ll obtain low quality files.

i don’t buy copy-protected cd’s because:

1. i don’t want to pay the price of a normal cd for a damaged one (they can’t even call them cd’s, if you look on the disc or on the case of copy-protected cd’s you won’t find the CD logo because they’re not real cd’s)

2. they copy-protect cd’s to sell more copies, and the only way i have to make them understand it’s the wrong way to do it is to buy less copies of them

can you please give me some link of shops selling the limited edition?

I posted this link to the German amazon site a while ago in the preorder thread. They’ve changed the product description. Back then, the cds were priced differently and one cd said limited edition, Now you can distinguish them only by the ASIN, the ordinary album being the first one with number B0002TX9QG.

exectly.. everything comes onto the pc from the original cd…

but you dont have to use programms wich record everything you want onto your pc (so much about copy your original onto the pc)… there are programms which are able to copy them like a normal cd without copy protection… i dont know what they are called but my brother knows it, it think? i am not computer genius… :)

I get really good quality rips using this method. I use Cool Edit 2000 and it always sounds just as good as ripping the cd directly!

It’s getting confusing…

Unfortunately the german site has no English translation. The English site http://www.amazon.co.uk only lists one version.
But the French amazon also has two versions with the one that I suppose to be the ordinary one being more expensive and is marked as import.

Hoooooch, heeeeeeellllllppp!!!

One attempt to explain that: there is only one version coming with videos and they just distinguish between UK version and continental one (just a guess).
At least I would wait with ordering it until Hooch can clear this mess up.

i said low quality, but i intended “lower”, and it’s a matter of fact that they’re of lower quality.
this is a limitation of your freedom to use the media you paid (so much) for.

The reason that you can only find the limited edition on the German site is because it’s being released by the German record label only. We’re trying to obtain a number of copies for the site so we can sell them here as well, but I don’t have any confirmation on this yet. Fingers crossed…

Nice from the guys (or their label) to give us Germans a special treatment. :D

The limited edition does indeed contain live videos of Teethgrinder and Who Knows, plus a link to some exclusive content on this site. I could tell you what the content is, but that’d ruin the surprise, now wouldn’t it?
