Polar Bear

#

Started by Ronald

When I hear this track I first think of a real, cool and relaxed polar bear who is fishing while enjoying the sun, but at the end of the song it is like a polar bear on speed chasing an other one who has stolen his fish…damn, I love it when it comes to full speed that song!:D

Right, it builds up intensity, and then it kinda “explodes in rage”. Think I`ll let this track be followed by Trigger Inside when I`ll have the time to burn a new T? Sampler.

Polar Bear followed by Trigger Inside is great. My third choice would be If it kills me.

In my opinion T? made here a new classic!
It’s the best song on the album.

It starts with a funky bassline, followed by Neils crazy drumming and it builds slowly to the apocalyps (those last mintes are fabulous) with a riff only Andy can make.

For me this tands aside Die Laughing and Screamager as one of T?’s colassics allready!

Can’t wait to see it live in Brussels with Andy as polar Bear and Michael as a Transvestite!

its like stalk and slash part 2, one of the best on the album especially that riff, and when it speeds up towords the end? i’d love to be in that pit someone would get killed:)

Rise Up, Long Distance, Polar Bear and the last three which are I think, one of the gretest strings of three songs on any of the labums (Stop It…, Nowhere & Die Laughing being another)

It really never crossed my mind that other people might not think it wasn’t great. Remember when it came out just thinking this will be great live, my g/f disagreed, then rapidly changed her mind when we saw them play it. Really love the way it builds and you can just imagine the bear stomping on its captor at the end.

I love NANE to bits, just that one song gets me! In fact, i’m off to listen to it now : ) I think its that the lyrics and their delivery in the verses i don’t like./The punishing bass/drum rhythm is cool

I love the whole of NANE apart from Rock You Monkeys… which I just don’t like and feels out of place on the whole album. NANE was different and a darker sound showing side of T? that to me always made then stand out. It also brought back the dark side to T? that had been missing since SP-YF.. I was disappointed when HA came out as I didn’t really like the sound of the album and the songs seemed uninspired in places and i know people like the song but it had Rust on the album and that’s my least favourite song by them ever.

Panic (mainly because of the whingy lyrics) and Dead are the low points for me but its been my favourite album ever since it came out, although I’ve got a pretty big soft spot for Crooked Timber.

I skip Polar Bear a lot when I listen to NANE, but I always play it when I’m listening to WHTTE. Sounds so much better live.
