Machine Head?

#

Started by Billy Blue

Not that I’m much of a fan of Machine Head but on more than one occasion on NANE I kept being reminded of them. Like when there’s a crunching riff with a little high pitched tweak (thats the technical term for it!). Not that thats a bad thing though.

Anyone else notice this?

yep, I’ve noticed it once or twice - I have the first two Machine Head albums.

NANE certainly has the heaviest riffs that Andy has ever written.

There’s a bit in Die… that definitely sounds like the beginning of Davidian by MH.

Completely off topic but did anyone else notice in Die Like a MotherFucker a riff from a Kerbdog song called Pledge?

Hmm… Well, it doesn’t sound anything like Machine Head to me.

Its a good album, though, but I think Troublegum, Infernal Love and High Anxiety are all better. Maybe with more listens it’ll grow on me further…

Listen to “Die Like A Motherfucker” at around 1:38 and 1:45, and you’ll hear some guitar pull-offs that sound kinda like the ‘Head.

Brainwash yourself with the album. I haven’t listend to anything else for the last 8 days and had NANE always in the background with me on stereo, my pc, mp3 player and in the car, and believe me, it’s only getting better after the 10th listen.

Machinehead? Nope. Nothing like ´em. However so called life sounds suspiciously like Black Sabbath…
And I wouldn´t say it´s got the heaviest riffs on it.

That bit reminds me of the head alright, sadly. They ruined harmonics for me, too much of a good thing wears very thin after the 100th time. Must sent Mr Flynn a memo.
