In fact dark tranquillity is my second favourite band after the mighty therapy?. And they are way better than in flames, though they sell more records.

fave records by dt are: ‘haven’ and ‘damage done’. So intense, so heavy, so great.

Watch out for the new ep ‘lost to apathy’ which will be released on november 15 as an appetizer for their new full lengh album ‘character’ due on 24th january.

‘I feel the urging need to invite the dark side in … INTO MY HAVEN’

So everybody here on the boards who’s into real heavy stuff as well should check ‘em out!

Heard of them, but haven’t heard them. My foray into the world of gothic metal stops at Paradise Lost these days.

Yeah when i was running a record stall we got shit loads of their live album in. Not a fan myself. I remember getting into an argument over if it was Dark Tranquility or Dark Throne who had released a live album (This was after we’d sold them). This guy claimed to be the biggest death/gothic metal fan ever and he didn’t even know that Dark Throne don’t play live. When we got some more in i so loved rubbing it in his face.

Let me get one thing straight: Dark Tranquillity are NOT a gothic band. Their style is often reffered as ‘melodic death’ to. so if you like in flames and soilwork you certainly like ‘em too (‘cos they’re better ;) )

Yeh i like soilwork as well but i have to say that dark tranquility are better.

i agree that they are not “gothic” i see them as “melodic death” metal as well. if u like dark tranquility u would proparly like dimmu borgir as well that are heavier but their newest album “death cult armageddon” is one that everyone should own.

my fav d/t song would probarly have to be = Not built to last.

Does anyone know if this cd they are bringing out will be in shops like HMV?

Early In Flames stuff is fantastic! Not too keen on their latest 2 albums though!
