Man, this has to be a wind-up!

That’s right. Someone doesn’t agree with you, thus their opinion must be a joke!
I’d love someone to actually point out what it so ‘great’ about The Bends. As I say, I find the melodies tedious and the production really flat and uninteresting.

I’ve never quite understood Radiohead; where is the logic in making music that makes your audience want to kill itself?

Because some people have a mentality to hear passion and beauty in music, no matter how ‘depressing’ it may be. I think, for example, Infernal Love is FAR more ‘depressing’ than any Radiohead album. But because it’s got distorted rock guitars on it, it’s got to be good, I suppose?

OK. Let’s see how many people support your opinion, and how many support mine. That should settle it.

One vote for Isness (but only concerning The Bends).
I contrast to him I don’t think they lost ‘it’ with Hail To The Thief, but just found back to making good music.

What would that “settle”? The only thing your post settles is that your only argument for liking The Bends is it’s popular…

Hmmmm…don’t find the production flat and some of it is pretty standard rock I admit but it is a very good album but if you’re not into it then you’re not into it the same way I’m not into anything of theirs after OK Computer.I actually think that Their later stuff is much more popular than the Bends,at least here in the States.
