who’s coming to Leeds then?
I’ll be there - pending Crash Records are open the next time i go (they weren’t last Fri lunch) so i can get a bloody ticket… :(

Where else in Leeds sells gig tickets apart from Crash and Jumbo Records…i work opposite end of town to them..
actually suppose i could pop into the Cockpit itself and get one..as my office overlooks it …never thought of that..d’oh

Unfortunatley it’s my turn to drive. What’s the cockpit like?

Here’s an email from the cockpit when I asked about advance tix:

Hi,
You can buy tickets from Crash 0113 2436743, Jumbo 0113 2455570 or http://www.seetickets.com.
Cheers

There’s a carpark behind the Corn Exchange which is about 10 min walk away, or you could park in the train station (the Cockpit is underneath). I think there might even be one over the road from the venue but I might have imagined it, everytime I’ve been there it’s been dark and I’ve been drunk…

Decent enough venue, be nice if they installed some air conditioning though.

helllooo Hooch! am up and running again!
will be great to see everyone there..looks like i shall have to pay a visit to Crash to obtain ticket.
Cockpit is great..used to be in there every friday - i agree about the air conditioning (lack of)
It is also a bar before the gig opens up too - but they usually chuck you out one door of the bar and make you walk round to the other door to get into the gig.
Lots of free on-street parking available round and about - any single yellow lines in adjoining streets are free after 6.
And yes the cockpit is under a railway arch next to the entrance to an NCP car park - which is under the next arch! how convenient!
And there is a car park also across the road (you’re not dreaming Hooch) built on the site of the Queens Hall tram shed and Venue where i saw A-HA play in 1987 (i was 8 or something)…Morten!! I still love you :D

Doors are at 7:00pm, I’m gonna have to get a taxi back. Why do they think that a last train to bradford at 11:15 is adequate???

Aaagh! that has brought back a horrible, horrible memory… I used to work at Leeds station and about 3 years back they replaced the Leeds - Bradford Interchange service with a bus due to work on the station… and the 11:15 pisshead service was the last one we had to see off before I could drive the 60 or so miles back home over the pennines.

Every night I would have a different pisshead having a go at me cause he had turned up at 11:20, missed the bus and decided to vent their anger at british rail for the next 15 minutes… GET A FUCKING WATCH!

thanx - had to get that off my chest! :D

When I bought my tickets at Crash I asked about stage times. The bloke told me that at the cockpit ‘music has to finish by 10.30 on a monday.’- should be plenty of time to make an 11.15 train.

From that I’m guessing a 9pm stage time?

Title: Hooch! (or any resident of this fair city)

Know anywhere in Leeds that sells plain black T-shirts at the moment (in XL…) tried all the usual outlets but of course it’s ‘the wrong time of year’ for T-shirts apparently
going to attempt some WOM related T-SHirt artwork and probably fail miserably…

No club night? Does that mean the bar won’t even be open beyond 11…?

If you want a laugh i’m on a camera club’s website from the Whitby Gothic Weekend - take a look at
http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/kirbycc/page2_wgw_10_04.htm

and click on the October 04 WGW photos…me and a mate are currently the last photo uploaded - down near the bottom of the grid - (underneath all the pink haired people)standing either side of a bloke in a coffin! (im on the left avec hat!) :D
