They haven’t played it in a couple of years.

Andy is always saying how great an album ‘Suicide Pact’ is, and how it’s always over-looked, but since they hardly ever play any tracks off it, what does he expect!?

‘Ten Year Plan’ is the only song played live off that album in the past two years, the rest is ignored.

If Andy really wants people to realise that they’ve released excellent stuff since Troublegum, maybe he should start by dropping some of the 7 or 8 standard live tracks off that album, and play more than just 1 song off Suicide Pact?

Don’t forget Sister on their headlining tour last year.

agree.
last time i heard little tongues first live was in 2000.
SP-YF is still my fave record and i´d like to hear more than only one or two songs live at a show!

never really thought about it like this, but now that you say, it perfectly makes sense - yeah, couldn’t agree more..

I agree. T? sometimes forget that many of the fans at the gigs are diehards and they want to hear less of the hits and more of the album tracks. Disgracelands anyone?

Here here. When I last saw them in the Mandella (may 1st), they played 14 tracks in total- 6 from troublegum. The only thing from Nurse was Teethgrinder (a great track, but its taken as read) and there was NO Suicide Pact at all! Or Shameless, or Semi-Detatched if I remember correctly.

Actually, its just occurred to me that they probably didn’t play the stuff off those albums because Martin had just left, and they needed 2 guitars.

This one is always a difficult discussion… we all heard Screamager too already 100 times, but they keep playing it too… why? Because the audience expects them to play it…

At least Metallica is still capable of playing more than 2 hours every evening :p

Taken as read? There was a two (three?) year period where they didn’t play Teethgrinder -at all-.

Of course, that doesn’t mean I’m not disappointed by the lack of Shameless or SPYF or Bad Karma/Fat Camp tunes in the set…

I was thinking about this the other week also, as on Scopophobia Andy introduces it also off SPYF.
Let me know

As much as I like them, a 2 1/2 hour set just would not be appropriate, would be exhausting and well…, I dunno.

But instead of a longer set, why not have a standard set, but really chop it up during the tour, esp of the UK. So they might rehearse 35 songs, and play a selection of 18-20 of them each night. A core of “10” must haves, and then a selection from the rest.

This would make it _much_ more exciting going to multiple nights on the tour, and I believe that this is something that a lot of people here, who really care about T?, do already!

Oopps, must have been a senior moment, and a boring day at work. Thanks for pointing it out, my mind is now at rest. I guess it is because I haven’t listened to SPYF for ages, a big crime I know. Definitely one for the weekend now me thinks.
Cheers.

just thinking… the new tour, the shows so far… it’s brilliant that they play He’s Not That Kind Of Girl again, but i’d love to hear more spyf-songs (Sister, anyone? :))!

If T? played a setlist of songs made from their more recent albums from SP-YF to NANE i think the songs would be just as strong live as the Troublegum material.

As a relatively new Therapy? fan, I’d love to be able to see some of the songs that don’t get played much anymore, in particular the songs from ‘Baby Teeth’, something from ‘Infernal Love’ other than Stories, and a few more from SPYF. And I’d give anything to see Femtex get played live…

theres a mistake on your bootleg list:

ATLTV Show, Blackstaff House, Belfast - IRL(27/05/2005) - (CD-R) (FM) (A-) (Incomplete)

This show is actualy the 28th/5/05 at lagan side court house. I know this for a fact cos i was at both shows and while the set list was near identical, teethgrinder was NOT played on the friday secret gig.

I was a bit disappointed on the tour for HA, as they did a big thing about voting for old and rare songs that you want to hear them play and then when i saw them they played mostly songs off the new album and then the songs you would expect them to play. Yeah but remember when they ran the poll people just ended up voting for songs like Potato Junkie.
