Old Live Therapy?

#

Started by FNYANKEZ

I recently picked up off of EBay a live Therapy? CD called No Love Lost. It’s a mix of 3 or 4 shows from 1993. (Roskilde, and Dallas were two places they yelled out about). Surprisingly excellent quality, it’s always so hit or miss with EBay. They must have been originally recorded for somehthing else, because they are definitly not bootlegs.

One thing I’m curous about.. did Fyfe sing Meat Abstract?
I know he used to sing Teethgrinder live, but I swear that’s not Andy singing the lead vocals of Meat Abstract, even though you can clearly hear him in the “HATE..FREEEDOM!” chant.

Does anyone know the answer?

One other comment about the CD, there were several songs from their first two EPs, (Potato Junkie, Meat Abtract, a couple versions of Innocent X, and a Skinny Pig/Fantasy Bag medley thing). Those songs sound SO much better live. Awesome. I’m listing to it at work and I just can’t stop flicking off my boss!

yeah, hell yeah!

no love lost was the very first therapy?-bootleg i ever bought, and it still is one of my absolute favourite ones! you can really smell the live-atmosphere from back in the early days - those songs indeed sound so good live!

and fyfe yeah, he’s great! not sure if it’s him singing meat abstract, but i guess so, as he’s doing so on loads of older bootlegs and videos i got.

there’s discussion about the 4 shows that are featured on it, but for that one; check here!

anyway, enjoy the bootleg, glad you like it too! :)

Yep, those shows on “No Love Lost” were all broadcasted on FM radio in the respective countries at some point. KTS (the bootleggers) must’ve got their hands on the soundboard recordings at some point.

Fyfe sings lead on Meat Abstract, Teethgrinder & Skinning Pit on that bootleg.

If you’re interested, he also sings lead on Totally Random Man, Disgracelands, Skyward, Dancin With Manson, Prison Breaker, and maybe a few others that I can’t remember now.

Which two?

“Isolation” has excellent sound - this was a (edited) BBC broadcast from Wolverhampton, also a KTS release.

“Shock Treatment” has good sound too - this was broadcast on Italian radio. Includes brilliant versions of Me Vs You & Iron Man.

“Europe 1994” is great as well - includes the Donington soundboard gig, plus an excellent non-soundboard gig from Milan in 1993 featuring a bunch of old songs.

“Good Fuckin Night” is from Glasgow (great quality radio broadcast) and includes an excellent BBC studio session.

be careful with that! nowadays i’m spending most of my money on buying empty cdrs and sending parcels all around the world, and i’m thinking about buying new furniture to store all those discs in too… be prepared for some major changes in your life i’d say :)

Isolation and a one called Fistful of Power. I think they both are put out by KTS.

I’ve lucked out with a few of their CDs. The Pearl Jam Atlanta 94 show which was broadcast over some satellite radio station (pre-XM and Sirrius) was great (actually the best live set I’ve ever heard).

I’ve lucked out with most of the bootlegs I’ve picked up. They’ve either been taken from the soundboard, or were from some sort broadcast. But you can also end up with a crap bootleg where there’s someone on one side of the Mic who won’t shut the hell up and it ruins the whole thing.

Just don’t pay too much. I never go higher than the price of a normal CD unless I know there’s something really unique or special about a particular show.

‘Fistful of Power’ is the soundboard of Donington 94. Good quality boot, but short (40 minutes), there’s also some slight editing in specific places throughout the recording, which the “Europe 1994” bootleg doesn’t have, but all in all ‘Fistful of Power’ is a good boot.
