I heard about his death earlier today,i was going to post about it but i didn’t think anyone here would have been a fan of his stuff. It’s a shame he was very entertaining and a bit mental too.

I was on the phone to my ex today and mentioned that the Big Baby J had died in the recording studio. “Let’s hope it was before he recorded anything” was the heartless git’s reply

What’s a lot worse and to me more important than some gangster getting what he deserves is the death of John Balance, the singer of Coil. He lost his balance (a bit of pun intended) and fell down the stairs to his tragic death.

I was a shame that he died so young but i quite like the fact that

Mr ODB’s untimely death allows me to raise one question I’ve always puzzled over.

Why was he referred to as ‘old’? If I pop my clogs in nine years time I sincerely hope people don’t say, “Hey, did you hear that Sam, that old fucker, died today?”.

Thats pretty fucked up - I dont think it will have done the rebels cause much good either - I would imagine even some of the more hard-lined militants would be a little disguisted at this.

Scumbags, hiding behind their balaclavas and murdering innocent women. At least they didn’t saw her head off though.

I guess being shot is preferable on those grounds. Feel much more moved by her death than ODB’s though.

Even for an injured Iraqui civilian facing a GI? :o
There’s two sides to every story (which doesn’t excuse the killing of her at all).

Preferable to having your head hacked off, yes. That’s not to say that it isn’t entirely deplorable in either case.

Of course murder is murder, but given the choice I’d much rather be shot than have my head sawn off with a bowie knife. I’ve seen one of the videos and it’s fucking horrible.

Yeah, not that you can really think positively about any aspect of a loved one’s murder, but there is a microscopic grain of comfort to be taken from the fact that their death was instantaneous.

The whole country’s in a big fucking mess basically, and if anyone deserves to have their heads hacked off, it’s Bush and Bliar (sic).
