Thank god for that, I thought I was imagining things..I noticed this on the Ozzy Osbourne Budokan DVD (Yup, Bordin plays (or at least playED)as part of Ozzy’s band).
Prince had a drummer called John Blackwell who was a leftie with a right-handed kit, and it opens up all kinds of odd possibilities that right-handers just couldn’t manage.
Bullshit :o

OK, put it another way, it opens up possibilities that right-handers couldn’t do unless they turn their kit around and play a left-handed kit.

if you are ambidextrous on the kit - you can do whatever lefties or righties can do :o

Well, of course. That’s what ambidextrous means, innit?!

Who’s Cormac? It’s not a nick name for Hendrix, is it? Cause Hendrix did that, too, I believe.
Anyway, as long as it works for Puffy, what does it matter which set up he uses?
think you misunderstood mate, i didn’t say there was anything wrong with it - i had just never noticed before. i like puffy’s beats…
to me it seems difficult though. i can sort of handle playing left handed but it would seem more difficult to not reverse the feet too.
and i think hedrix just played his (right handed) guitar upside down but it was strung as a left handed one?

Ahh, I love how every thread about a band seems to degenerate into a drumming discussion :)

I misread that: I thought you said ‘I’m the most reliable drummer in my band.’ :D

You notice how nobody has anything to say when discussing guitar players or bassists, but mention the word ’ drummer ’ and the jokes come thick and fast.
 NB : NO crap jokes about drummers being thick and not fast.
I am quite content with my set up - but our guitar player has TWO 4x12 marshall cabinets and wants to get a third - and we’re only a 3 piece band !!!
WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THAT ? :o

OK, apologies for drummerphobic comments earlier (although I have to say, bassists get it much worse from me!).
With regard to your geetar player wanting more stacks…Is he insane?!
If ONE Marshall stack isn’t enough then yer man must be going deaf! The backline shouldn’t need to be especially loud if you are using a decent PA that is set up correctly - so long as the band can hear themselves on stage, the main punch and power out front should come from the PA. Even without a PA, I have played using a much less powerful amp than a Marshall, and there is no WAY you would need more than one Marshall stack unless you were looking at a major-sized venue - and what would you be doing playing a major-sized venue without a full PA in the first place?!

Doesn’t Puffy also play with the wrong ends of his sticks? I can’t remember why I seem to think that and it could be someone else though! ;)

Stuart ” talentless ” cable used those sticks with no tip - just a long piece of wood with a ( ahem ) a butt on either end.
:o One of them is stuart cable.
