How to dismantle an atomic bomb

So what do U2 fans think of it ?

I know a lot of you don’t like them…:o

But I like the new album, even though its hardly a rock album like they promised…

On first listen, it just sounded like Vertigo and 10 ” Walk On ” re-writes but i’m getting into it now and I think it probably is better than All that You Cant Leave Behind..

Better production for a start…Welcome back Steve LilyWhite !!

:D

Fast cars is a great song. As is Ground beneath her feet from the last album, both these songs deserve to be on the album proper, dont know why they arent…:o

I’m still waiting the whole album to “grow” on me. I instantly liked Vertigo & Fast Cars but as you said the rest need to “grow”…

DVD is great! Haven’t check that main thing “U2 and 3 songs” but I found Vertigo’s Temple Bar Mix very, very, very, very, very hilarious… (Did I say very? :D)

Why the hell they didn’t included lyrics or booklet to the “Special Limited Edition”..?

there are just a couple of songs i like a bit less than the rest, like One Step Closer and Yahweh.
Love And Peace Or Else really stands out, it is quite experimental for U2.

i believe steve lillywhite did a nice job as always, but Brian Eno should have been kept away from the consoles, i hate how he turns raw rock songs into light-rock!

i have some of the demos U2 were working on with Chris Tomas, at the time they were saying this album is going to be pure rock n roll, and they are!!! as bono said, punk rock made in venus!

i hope they get released real soon!

the collector’s edition doesn’t have the lyrics inside, that’s true, but i believe that’s going to be a problem only to people without internet connection.

City Of Blinding Lights is my favourite. As a matter of fact, it’s in my all time top 20 of U2 songs.

At the moment I don’t have a copy of the CD yet because I don’t want to buy the real limited edition with the book because I’d have to put it with my DVD’s and I don’t want to buy the other limited edition because it doesn’t have fast cars on it over here in Belgium. I’m coming to England somewhere next month so I’ll get the normal version with DVD then so for now I’m just lending it fom the place where I work.

seems like we’ll have to wait a bit longer for the new U2-tour.. it’s been postponed..

honestly, i would love them live once, but i doubt i’ll be able to get ticks anyway. they are believed to sell out stadiums in less than five mins these days..

To weak. Needs strength. They were great, buy they lost it after pop (a very underrated album) the best of´s and all that i left behind…well better not talk about them. H.T.D.A.B. is better then the all that I left behind, but I get the feeling they`re just going through the motions.

I am a long-time, on-and-off fan of U2. I have gone long periods where I am disillusioned by them and others when they are just what I want to hear.

I too was excited by the promises of a “rock” album - a return to “Boy” dynamics with a modern, lillywhite production would’ve been amazing.
Still, “…Atomic Bomb” is a good album, not Earth-shattering, but I was pleasantly surprised by it.
Bono’s voice is noticably getting ropier, but he’s an old git now, isn’t he?!

As for Ground Beneath Her Feet - Best U2 song for a long time, spellbinding stuff! Gets me every time I hear it.
