Miserable movies

#

I know this may be the wrong place to post such a thread but it also can tie in with the whole ‘Miserable albums’ thing.

Just simply list the movies that you’ve seen that you find relates to depression or anything of the sort. Doesn’t have to mean you hated it.

Here’s a few to start off with, in my opinion:

1. Donnie Darko
2. Untamed Heart
3. Being John Malcolvich
4. One Hour Photo

And don’t just put something like ‘Mrs Doubtfire’ because you hated it. Come to think of it I loved that film.

“Help it on the way, dear!”

Ah yes. Don’t do drugs kids, or else you’ll end up being anally intruded with a double-ended dildo or lose a fucking arm or something. The film is fucking madness.

Forest Gump- I don’t care how feel-good some people thought it was- everyone he cares about DIES! What are the odds?

I actually found Jacob’s Ladder, on the other hand, quite uplifting.

Festen

An extremely misanthropic movie that happens to be extremely entertaining. Black comedy at its best. Not for the faint hearted!

Happiness

Quite exotically depressing yet brave movie about sexual perversion and child abuse.

Henry, Portrait of a Serial Killer

This makes Silence of the Lambs look like The Sound of Music. So grim that I, a connosieur of sick movies, don’t really want to watch it again - I felt unclean after seeing this.

Man Bites Dog

Mock-doc about a film crew following a serial killer around - quite horrible scenes of murder and rape and a depressingly nihilistic view of humanity. About half a dozen people walked out of the cinema where I saw this, I stayed to the bitter end and wondered whether I should. Have.

Happy times and places,

The Doctor
