So I live in Carlisle, which at the moment is flood central! Ive been without electricity or heating for 3 days.Ive seen people riding around in boats where there used to be houses and businesses.I had to plan where I was walking, because I was getting cut off by roads turning into rivers in a matter of minutes…I had to double lock all my doors because of the burglaries that were happening, because there are no alarms.I had to ration my food. There were no shops open, no cash machines, no petrol. No way in or out of the city…
All this is just a fraction of what happened in indonesia. What those people are going through is incomprehensible. Only 3 people died here, but the damage was terrible. I cant even imagine what its like to be there, when its this bad here.

My dad was supposed to be working at the Station in Carlisle yesterday but work told him not to bother setting off. The people that travelled up on Friday night had to sleep on the floor of the hotel bar due to safety reasons - if there was a fire the alarm wouldn’t work.

Crazy stuff!

A friend of mine had her house flooded, and then it set fire, so they had to climb out through the upstairs window.because there was no more downstairs…!It was totally eerie, I went out looking for food yesterday, and everyone was walking around like a zombie.Ironically the only shop open was a frozen food shop, but considering no-one had electricity, it was a bit pointless.
We were supposed to be recording the new album in Newcastle this week, but the weather is getting worse again, no trains are running, and the bass players house was under 4ft of water last time I checked…

Well - I work for the company that puts the replacement buses on for the railways.

I would imagine the railway is gonna be fucked for a week or so - so if you do go you might end up on one of our buses!! which will be nice for you!! ;)

I hope there’s not too great damage at your house, Chris.

A mate of mine just had his cellar flooded some years ago and that’s where he stored all his old vinyl.
So be glad, if it’s only stuff that can be replaced.

what’s with all the f’d up weather?

Florida hit with 3 or 4 hurricanes, the Tsunami (even though technically not a weather thing), Englands flooded, and So. California is about to mudslide into the Pacific. And meanwhile here in Northern Va. where it’s supposed to be in the low forties we’re at a balmy 53F and may hit 70F tomorrow…

Last week in the US there was a 100F difference between the high temp and low.
Florida was 80F, and Montana was -20F. Rediculous.
