Don’t believe him, Bettie, he’s mostly harmless. And don’t worry about him coming to Groningen, he’s from Leeds. ;)

The sausage rolls are burnt, I’ve drunk all the whiskey, and allroy’s got through half a glass of Babycham.

Ooo, Bettie, I’ll bring the quiche to Groningen for you! :p

Anyway, since everybody is making a fool out of me I’ll be comming here more often… just so you people can have a laugh.

Title: Why o why?

I never thought of this and suddenly it hits me: why o why are Therapy? playing in the Oosterpoort once again, instead of Vera (for the uninformed: also in Groningen)???

I mean, Vera is often described as one of the best clubs in The Netherlands, especially for rock-concerts with the audience drinking beer in bottles instead of those annoying plastic cups (just a small example)… well, I’ve never been there - maybe somebody who has can tell more about Vera, it’s got quite a reputation, y’know.

Anyway, is this a case of people @ Oosterpoort booking Therapy? or maybe Therapy? specificly wants to play there again (which I can imagine after the Ten Year Plan-show, but the opening show of the Scopophobia-tour was, was, well, it seemed that not only the band had to get started… and I doubt the place was even half full!), or are the people @ Vera just sleeping?

Damn, just look at the agenda at the official Vera-site (forgive me for no link) and see that Therapy? really fits in there!

is it only because in one club you can drink from bottles instead of the plastic-cups?

i thought there would come s.th, like damn i cannot make it that day…or now i’m working in a that club, but they play in the other one…or whatever…

…but so
just be happy, that they are playing, i would say

Hmm, maybe the Vera might be considered too tiny (don’t know about its capacity),

As for the bottles. If you’ve ever had to take care of not falling down in a mosh pit because the whole floor ist covered with shards from broken beer bottles (I remember concerts at the Prime Club in cologne for that) you might prefer plastic cups as well.

Fuck off, mate, I am not complaining at all!

As to other replies: the bottled beer was just an example to point out the difference between clubs! Just one tiny example… I mean, Vera can be considered as a real “club” like Melkweg or Tivoli, and the Oosterpoort really is nothing more than a conference-center, like a small RAI (Amsterdam)…

I was only wandering why Therapy? play the same venue three times in the same city when there’s another great place over there as well, and like I said the last time in Oosterpoort the place wasn’t exactly packed! Even in Amsterdam they play Paradiso and the Melkweg, so why should that be called complaining? After two times Oosterpoort I would love to see them play in Vera - and I’m sure people from the north will agree. Remember the gig in Doornroosje, Nijmegen? One of the best gigs I’ve ever been to, and from stories I hear about Vera you have the same kinda feel over there. Oosterpoort is too businesslike, if you ask me, and everyone can disagree or agree. Like I said in the original post: I’ve never been to Vera, and it would be one hell of a good reason to go there if Therapy? plays there. That’s one of the reasons why I like to travel to T?-gigs actually! If it wasn’t for them, I would have never been (yet) to Nighttown, Paard van Troje, Tivoli, Doornroosje, and also Oosterpoort… that Ten Yean Plan-show over there was amazing! So who’s complaining here, mate?

One more thing: I live in Amsterdam, saw Therapy? twice in the Oosterpoort, so I’m not happy that play in the neighbourhood cause I’m more than happy to travel all the way to Groningen!

And the question if it’s a case of Therapy? specificly asking to play Oosterpoort or the people @ Oosterpoort just do a good job of booking Therapy? really is just a good question for the FAQ-competition. How does it really work? Once again: I’m not complaining, I’m just curious. And to R.Roxy: I don’t have a problem with it, I’m just… curious.

People, people let’s be nice to eachother ;)

Well to be honest, I would LOVE for Therapy? to come play in Vera. It’s a club with a great… euh… vibe :D Not too big, nice people and (this is what I see as a big YEY ‘cause I’m a student and even if I wasn’t I’ld still see it as a big YEY :p) the prices over there are VERY low. Tickets and drinks are very cheap and come on, nobody sees that as a problem, now do we? If Therapy? would play in Vera the tickets would probably cost €10,- now they’re €22,-… and the drinks over there are very cheap as well, as I said before.
About the broken beerbottles… you can ask for a plastic cup if you thinks that’s more handy in the mosh pit.
Well anyway, I still think it’s great for them to play in the Oosterpoort, but if they played in Vera it would just safe some money (More money for merchandise *hint hint to the band :p*)

It might be a joke, it is April Fools Day after all, but hell, I’ll be there. The concert is in the small venue I read, so that must be good for the atmosphere. I have never been to Vera yet, unfortunately, but hey, maybe in the future…
