I’ve heard about this Film but sadly I have problems with speaking English let alone another language and If subtitles are added then that fucks me up worse. It’s a shame as i miss out on some good films. Maybe i should get my Cousin to translate do you think it’s worth it?

It’s definitely worth it. But your cousin would have a lot of work to do. ;)

One of the best movies I’ve seen lately. Wasn’t too keen in the first place regarding all the critics. But it was GREAT. Bruno Ganz - what an actor. The bloke playing Goebbels was brilliant as well - scary.

I thought the cast was amazing. The Goebbles Family, Hitler and Braun, Speer and some of the Generals were excellent in it. I can see an Oscar in line for this movie.

An Oscar? It would deserve nothing but an Oscar. What category? It would be “best foreign film” or something, can’t see it making in one of the “major” ones…

That’s what it’s nominated for.

By the way, thanks for Saints giving us Kasey Keller.

great movie, brilliant actors. Some of them even looked like the characters they played. bruno ganz as hitler is just amazing: the way he looks, moves and speaks: one could believe it’s the real one.

just one point of criticsm: if you’re not too familiar with history one could easily be tricked into feeling sympathy for the greatest villans in world history.

Thats the point though. It was almost two people.
Adolpf Hitler, the caring, quite charming older man and Der Führer, the crazy, jew-hating warmongerer.

This is what I like about it, Hitler depicted as a monster with a human touch, way better than the ususal black and white characterizations.

Absolutely. That’s why it is so much more believable. After all he was still human as were all of them. Screwed up? Yes, but noone is through and through evil. Everyone has something redeeming.

Welcome mate, you want anyone else? Not sure, but Keller was still attached to Spurs? Or maybe a free agent? We just bought Quashie from Pompey. There will definately be some “issues” at the end of the month when the scum gets thrashed at StMary’s. Looking forward to it. A special no-go zone will be reinstated by the coppers again.

What happened to Jörg Stiel? I know he left the national squad, wasn’t sure about Borussia… not too bad a keeper, brilliant character:D

This thread’s entitled Downfall, so I guess two people supporting teams fighting relegation shso talk about football here.

To cut it short: Keller belonged to the Scum, but we got him as a free agent. I think, Jörg Stiel retired completely from football though I’m not sure about it.
