DRY RISE

Started by dragginthru

The new Dry Rise track “interstellar” is now available on http://www.dryrise.com on the Music page.

You’ll dig it if you like bands like Kerbdog, Silverchair, Inme, Nirvana, Therapy, Wildhearts, Funeral For A Friend, Fuel, Foo Fighters.

Its best described as intense, melodic rock/metal.

Please go check it out and let us know what you think…!

Well, I hated Funeral For a Freind, Inme, Foo Fighters and Silverchair. Haven’t heard the others except Nirvana, Wildhearts and Therapy?, which I like. I also like Dry Rise, so I’d say give it a try even if the alleged similarity to any of the above mentioned bands puts you off.

Yeah, it’s always hard knowing what influences to list isn’t it. It’s a fine line, not wanting to put people off but to put in enough variety to give people an idea!

Our influences could be summarised as Kerbdog, Metallica, Silverchair in terms of the overall sound I suppose.

I hate having to come up with influences for bands- the whole idea is to do something different, isn’t it? Its not that a particular sound can’t inspire you, but the idea of creation is to make something that nobody else has made before, otherwise its just replication. I think that Dry Rise do that, and trying to come up with a list of influences should only be to entice people’s curiousity so as they click the damn link. Seems like you’ve done that, too, so good job.

Sadly not dude.

The guy who was originally sorting it out has not been returning emails, PMs or MSN so I think we can assume we are being avoided, which is a real shame as we were well up for the most rock weekend in history!!!!

Nevertheless I am still coming to Dublin to get drunk and see Kerbdog, and will be giving out loads of DR cd’s… :D

Man, that’s a shame. Anyway, hope to see ya at the TBMC to scrounge a DR cd. I was Tony Montana on the wilt board, so I’ve already got one cd of you guys, most impressive!!

Ah cool, I was “Fyfe” on that Wilt board, or was it “Fyfe79”, I can’t remember exactly.

Hey dude, good to hear from ya!

The Wilt board is down and has been for a month, which is terrible considering the imminent Kerbdog gig and the meet-up opportunities being wasted :(

Hey, we’re having a mini Wilt reunion :D .

It’s a real shame that the Wilt site is gone down. That seemed to be the only source of up to date Kerbdog info, especially as Darragh was taking time to post and keep us informed.

Title: Therapy? in Brighton April 21st (merged)

Hi

My band DRY RISE are supporting THERAPY? at the Concorde 2 in Brighton on April 21st. We are damn stoked about this :D

So this is an invitation for people to check us out prior to the show, where we get to play with our heroes!!!

Our influences are Kerbdog, Therapy, Metallica and Nirvana. We’ve had a video on Scuzz and a track on the cover cd of Rock Sound magazine, we’re still unsigned though.

Visit http://www.dryrise.com and download all our FREE tracks (produced by John Mitchell - Funeral For A Friend, The Cooper Temple Clause, The Hurt Process)

Thanks for reading!

Wow, I can’t believe you’re still unsigned. I thoght you guys were the best by far in that Demolition thing (there was one other good band, can’t remember the name, but the rest were mostly nu-metal bores). Odly enough, when I saw that video, it made me think of T?- Maybe its just the goatie. Well, congratulations on the gig.
