Therapy? on ‘Nativity in Black’

#

Started by Ande (Guest)

I just bought this Black Sabbath tribute album yesterday and it’s great, but it makes me wonder why Andy Cairns isn’t doing the main vocals on ‘Iron Man’..
It was a bit of a dissapointment because they manage to play the song in the ‘Therapy? kind of way’ but Ozzy Osbourne doesn’t sound very ‘Therapy?’ to me.
So does anyone know, why Andy isn’t doing the vocals in that song?

I’ve read that Ozzy hates the music on T?’s version of Iron Man.
I think it’s fucking brilliant myself, at least they did it in there own style, adding something a bit differnt to the song.

Yea. I do like the original one more, ofcourse, but the Therapy? version is good too because they managed to make it sound like themselves.

I think the T? version sounds better. Not that I would ever dream of saying the Black Sabbath one isn’t good. It’s just that Therapy? have spruced it up and made it more lively. It’s also a nice touch having Ozzy singing with Therapy? A touch upsetting that he didn’t like the music.

When I first got NIB TRIBUTE ALBUM, I was excited to see that T? performs on it as well. My excitment turned to disappointment when I heard that Ozzy is actually singing the main vocals, and Andy is just screaming in the background (which is IMHO beter part of the song). T? managed to boost up rather average, repetative and boring BLACK SABBATH song, but unfortunately they did not managed to get rid of Ozzy (for God’s sake, will somebody put him away already). Well, with all said and done, my favorite part of the sound would be bone-crunching ending of the song, with Andy screaming, and Ozzy silent.

Thank ya very much!

Got to be honest, though the idea for the collaberation was good, but the track (for me at least) seemed a little weak compared to the other efforts. AND I’m not having a go at either T? or Ozzy.
