LAY 1 was completely different. Each episode was only 10 mins long for a start!
The style was of a science programme to be watched at school with your teachers. It was simply a series of increasingly bizarre ‘scientific’ experiments undertaken by men in scary 70’s style suits and beards.
Examples: worker ants building an igloo, germs originating from germany, highly explosive ‘moth apples’ and the ‘forbidden notes’ on a piano which make your ears bleed (kept in the locked ‘box diabolique’ on every piano), not to mention the telephone call received from a human brain in a jar.

It’s just a shame that LAY2 is nowhere near as good.:(

Yeah, there are cool bits in theis series (personal favourite is the sleep-driving), but I imagine it would work much better as ten minute episodes. I like the idea of it being more of an Open University thing, too.

LAY1 was indeed awesome. Series two is on the telly now and I’m here instead., it’s nowhere near as good. I gave up after a couple of episodes.
Thanks ants. “Thants”.
