Therapy? - T-Shirt thieves!!!!

#

Started by Black Lagoon

Back in October I saw Therapy? play at the Rock Box record shop in Camberly, and on the day I met the band and got a few CD’s signed.
One thing I can clearly remember was that Michael and Andy were really really impressed with my Orange Goblin t-shirt I was wearing.

Now this week I look at the website and see the new Therapy? t-shirt and it looks very very familiar to the Orange Goblin shirt I was wearing.

Did my t-shirt inspire the new Therapy? shirt by any chance?

and search for Orange Goblin

They were both obviously inspired by the Ramones, but I don’t know whether the designer of the t-shirt knew about the existence of your shirt. He is a member of the boards, so maybe he will be able to comment on it.

But even if there is a link, I think it’s a bridge too far to call anyone a thief, as the Orange Goblin t-shirt isn’t exactly an original as well.

Yeah I know that the Ramones shirt was the original (Who wouldn’t!), but if you’d seen Michael and Andy both laughing and saying how cool the Goblins one was you’d understand where I’m coming from thinking that they might have thought it’d been a good idea to use it themselves.

Would just love to know if me in my Goblins shirt was some part of the insperation for the shirt though.

Of course the shirt is inspired by the Ramones, and to be honest, I designed it, maybe as a tribute to THE RMS, but the guys love it, and can you imagine how proud I am that they sell it as the “WEBSITE EXCLUSIVE”?
Damn, I´m proud!

I have to support Marc (BKFYA) here, because I´ve been discussing several shirt ideas with Michael from T? and based on that Marc set up the RMS copy. From my point of view - and apart from brilliant heavy fuckin music - Therapy? are well known for honesty and irony. So please book the Orange Goblin experience under “coincidence”.

I have one of those Ramones t-shirts. For some reason I get a lot more comments on it than any other T I have.

But I’ll still get a T? one.

I was at Idlewild in Dublin last night, wore the new Tshirt. First off, I had one guy tell me there was no ‘Micheal Ramone’ (!) then Idlewild dedicated a cover of ‘Sedated’ to the guy in the Ramones Tshirt.

I gave my Ramones shirt away about a year ago when it suddenly became fashionable to wear them by people who hadn’t actually heard any Ramones songs.
A lot of punk bands have jokingly copied that logo, but I think Therapy? have done it best. I saw in some t-shirt catalogue that Good Charlotte have done it to, but theirs looks shit… maybe I’m prejudiced agasinst them, but who isn’t?
Did anyone hear that story about Martin Freeman (Tim from The Office) when he was being interviewed by some guy in a Ramones t-shirt? He asked the guy interviewing him if he owned any Ramones albums, he didn’t, and then he asked him to name two Ramones songs and he couldn’t.

I actually saw that. It was on ‘Tim Lovejoy & the All Stars’, on Sky One.

When Lovejoy couldnt name 2 songs, Freeman kicked him with a “I thought so !”. Hero.

For those who dont know the twat that is Tim Lovejoy, check him out, just oozing Punk Attitude …
