Brighton Gig - How many from board going?

#

Started by Last Wave

I’ll be one of two, pestering people waiting in line with This Is Menace flyers (featuring Andy) before going in to enjoy the music.

Who else is going?

wowey, fantastic gig. i missed the support bands *shrugs* but therapy? rocked. I quite liked diane with guitars instead of the normal morbid sound. my only meh is that they didn’t play moment of clarity:(

Easily the best T? gig I’ve been too. Went to see them last year in London and it was missing something, was thinking it was down to being a 3 piece again but last night was unbelievable. :D

Concorde is a great venue (the Faint and Tiger Army were good there too) but the crowd were up for it and the mighty T? responded. Even without playing some of my favorites (Dances with Manson, Long Distance). Good to hear ‘Not that Kind of Girl’ again though. What happened to the new stuff?

Even got my girlie in the pit (never happens), Didnt even mind losing my watch at the end.

COOL!

I was there, were else would you be.. when T? were in Brighton..?, excellent gig T? totally rocked, and yet again Mr Neil F**king Cooper (not my words Andy’s), smashed those drums like a nutter, and was Michael having bass problems..?
The set list as a whole surprise me, also a little short about 70min, Turn as the first song..wow. No Rise Up, or Die Like…, in there.
Never got a chance to speak to anyone regarding confirmation about the new single.. :(

Anyway here is the setlist:-

Turn
Gimme Back My Brain
This Ship Is Sinking
Rust
If It Kills Me
Church Of Noise
He’s Not That Kind Of Girl
Rock Your Monkeys
Perish The Thought
Polar Bear
Stories
Potato Junkie
Isolation (Lost Control)
Teethgrinder
Neck Freak
Screamager
Die Laughing
===
Diane
Nowhere
Knives

Yeah, was a great gig, I had to go out after Die Laughing, to do flyer duties, but yeah the bass sounded tight, and the drumming was immense, was all really good.

Last night was a great gig! Hung out with the band afterwards and they were really nice guys.

I was the singer in the first band on, DRY RISE. If anyone by chance got any photos, we’d be up for seeing them!!!!

Thanks to anyone who came early enough to see us, we were surprised how busy it was considering we were on at 8!!!!

totally excellent show last night - wasn’t expecting either of the support bands to be any good (esp. after the last time therapy? played the concorde *cough* defenestration *cough*) but was pleasantly surprised by both ;)

as for the support bands, dry rise…I missed you guys but picked up your last free cd thingy on the way out…not too shabby if you don’t mind me saying:)
as for the other support band, they shot themselves in the foot when their sales pitch to me and the girl was something along the lines of “yea therapy? are good but we will be so much bigger, only £8 for a signed CD”. a swift get stuffed followed.

Over-zelous merch girls, fans and band “managers” always make me laugh with their hype :D

Hey peeps, I’m Toby, I play in Hateball. Just really wanted to drop a line to say what an honour it was to support Therapy? and what a top bunch of guys they are.

As for the above comment; the guy “touting” our wares is not actually in the band, he is a fan who had had a little too much to drink, and thought he was doing us a favour. So if there was any ill feeling due to this I apologise. It iritates the hell out of me when people think they are better than others, so please, no hard feelings.

To all the Therapy? fans who’d never seen us before and gave us such a warm reception; i thank you and hope to see y’all again.

Signing off.

Well, Dry Rise are an unsigned band at the mo so there are no concrete plans for any “proper” release.

Our current aim would be to get an indie label to put out a single, see how it does, then go from there to an album.

And Jut - there are a further 3 tracks available for free on http://www.dryrise.com - “The Big I Am” (as seen on Scuzz/ May 2004 Rock Sound mag CD) is on the MUSIC page, and if you sign up to the forum you can get SHATTERED and MY ADVICE.

All are free and CD quality, engineered by John Mitchell (Funeral For A Friend, Cooper Temple Clause) :D

ya, he was right next to me for most of therapy’s set - strangely jolly man, that chris.

though if anyone knows what he was laughing at during ‘nowhere’ i’d like to know - it was quite creepy ;)

with ref to “juts” post i am the person that was selling the h8ball cds, and i too thought therapy were awesome, by far the best band ive seen in ages. so i can assure everybody that i NEVER slated therapy. yes i might have been over zelous in my selling techniques, but it was meant to be a bit of harmless fun, and i apologise to anyone who felt offended.
