I just ordered the first album off Amazon for about £3.00 including postage!! Always been a fan of On The Turn, never heard this one. Whats it like then?

Great album, the first one. The songs are a bit heavier, more straight forward, the vocals are less poppy than “On The Turn”.

Best songs are the ‘Dry Riser’, ‘End Of Green’, and I like the ballad-y ‘Clock’ too.

It’s definietly more “Chuga-chuga” heavy metal than the second album. Some of the riffs are a bit insipid, but it’s still a great album with some amazing songs on it, though it isn’t as consistent as On The Turn.

£3 is quite cheap. copies of that normally go for at least a tenner (on ebay)..

although the second one is more (dare i say) commercial and ‘poppy’ its easier to get into and i think its loads better than the first. Defintly in my top ten favourite albums of all time. Such a shame that Kerbdog got shafted…

I agree…!!!

I really hope that the recent reunion gigs lead to a new album. It would be excellent if they started recording again.

Their record company never did anything for them or helped promote their album from what i hear in interviews.

the sad thing is Kerrang reviewed the album and they gave it a really good one but the last line they said something to the effect of “…but knowing the shitty way the world works, this album will probably go unnoticed…”

you know it’s weird i found aload of old kerrangs and metal hammer in my attic the other day from around 95-98. and of the main british talent around at the time, kerbdog got quite a respectable amount of coverage in them, i found about 3 features and some good reviews..

unlike cable (unless i never got the mags they was in) i could not find one feature and their reviews were so random. In one were they support reef, cable apparently ruinied the night cos they are so crap, then a few weeks later when they supported carrie i think they were the next big thing??

no wonder i stopped reading kerrang from then..

but i do remember kerbdog having at least 4-5 songs off on the turn featured on free cd’s in hammer and kerrang! so it wasn’t like the had no promotion.

i mean i first heard of kerbdog myself when ‘on the turn’ was featured on a free kerrang tape..

AAAHHHHH!!!

HULK SMASH! HULK BASH!

Please people! Ireland is not Britain.
I know I’ve said this a million times before on these threads, but it’s just so annoying when people say shit like that.

Christ! We kicked them out of the Republic almost 90 years ago. When is it going to sink in…???

Now I’m off to take a sedative…

geez man what’s so bad about that? it wasn’t like i spent ages thinking about what to type, i know their irish…

I can apprieciate that it probebly means more to you than it does me (being english)…

but we have the same in theory, bands like kerbdog and cable, it’s us vs them (britain and the repub vs america) well in 1997 we did anyway, and thats what i meant…

you may debate this, i may of been harder for irish bands but oviously i don’t know about this, ain’t really looked into it

The record company really fucked up with the second Kerbdog album. The singles and videos got released way before the album, so by the time the album got released all momentum that the promotion had gained was lost.
