Think I’ll be listening to 6 Music all day on the 18th anyway :)

Let’s see… what else will be on…

Dead Souls by Nine Inch Nails
Shes Lost Control by Girls Against Boys
Er… I think the Smashing Pumpkins covered Joy Division too
Exercise Number One by Radiohead

I remember on Andrew Collins’ old weekday show they used to play a cover version every day, which nearly always got completely slated. When they were over in Belfast for the week he played T?’s Isolation, and it got great feedback, which was nice.

I thought that version was utter shit. I hate Corgan.

Lets not forget, the day is to remember Ian Curtis, probably the best song writer. Reading his words is like reading poetry. Of course, he with Joy Division influenced a lot of bands of all genres.

Seaweed did a solid version of Warsaw which I rather enjoy.

Read the actual graphic novel of “The Crow” if you get a chance. There’s all kinds of Joy Division references. All of the chapter headings were from Joy Division songs, and a few verse quotations at the beginning of some chapters.

Let’s all remember Joy Division.

More importantly, let’s try to forget New Order.

I actually got my first New Order album yesterday, Substance. I think it’s pretty good, I like ‘em. You’re right though, tomorrow is all about Big Ian. Curtis that is, not Paisley ;)

I thought that was remarkably similar too. Everyone here was saying U2 sounded like Sister, but I always thought it was more like Isolation. its no suprise- that kinda riff… you couldn’t spit in the air without hitting somebody who’s written a riff like that.

Especially not if you’re spitting in the air at The Edge. Why not try that next time you see him?

I think the Pumpkins covered Transmission.
