Pure fucking class, the most consistently brilliant album since Semi-Detatched. Rise Up, DLAM and Perish tThe Thought are probably the strongest opening to any T? album, and Dead and Long Distance are two of the best tracks they’ve even penned. Only weak link for me is Polar Bear, but there you go, everyone else seems to like it so fair play. One of their top three for me.

I still think it’s a great modern Therapy? release. Highlights for me are the slow-punk bassline of This Ship is Sinking, the raw aggression of Here be Monsters, the riff of Polar Bear and the reflective beauty of Long Distance (which I suppose is the general favorite of the album of most people).
Anyone here (still) think it’s an underwhelming album with insufficient good songs?

Yes, I completely agree with this.
Listening to OCFA in it’s entirety made me realise just how good NANE was and also just how relevant Therapy can be; I feel NANE captured the spirit of the times without sounding like any other band just perfectly.

Totally.
I listeneed to this album loud the other day and thought it was awwesome - doesn’t sound like anything else but is heavy, groovy and tuneful and the guitar tones (i never noticed before) are actually really interesting - its not just a wall of noise ‘scooped’ metal sound but really punky with good effects where they’re needed too. This and Nurse are my fave T? albums.
Only weak track i agree is Polar Bear. What possessed them?!

Polarbear is probably my favourite track.
Reminds me of older times, when Andy was writing the “scarier” stuff.
I’m not that fond of Long distance though. The singing isn’t just that great. The music is ok. Anyone noticed the Camouflage vibe? I’m reminded of “the “great commandment” for some reason.
I like the song more than say, Panic.
Overall, it’s a very good album, Imho the best with Neil. HA still has the best song of all (If it kills me).

I can’t believe the songs from this album were all but relegated from the live set apart from Rock You Monkeys. Dead is amazing live.

I’ve not heard Dead live, but apart from that, agreed. The songs on NANE are so clearly born to be played live.

But it’s a pity indeed, it’s got so many perfect songs on it! I really miss Die Like A Motherfucker, Rise Up, Perish The Thought,… (the complete album actually) on the setlist :(

Yeah i’ve only seen a few of the songs off NANE live: Rock you monkeys, Polar Bear and Rise up (done acoustic)..because i wasn’t living in the UK when that album came out:( But the bootlegs i have of that tour they sound some of the strongest songs live and would love to hear more of them in the set.

concur
it’s surprising how after listening for ten years to your fav band, they can hit you delivering what is maybe their best record. and for me this is unique to Therapy?
I mean, i’m sure that this is not going to happend with… for example, Metallica (with all my respects to their work)

Metallica are coasting on past reputation.
T? on the other hand are still doing good work!

I’d love Tool to open for Metallica - the impeccable live show plus the impeccable drumming and singing would put metallica to shame !!!
:D I think Lars is just running on ” damage limitation ” now.
His Arrogance is off the chart !!
Metallica suck live !! :D

They might surprise us!!
I thought NANE was …ok when it came out but looking back it is a cracking record. No-one else at the time was doing really heavy guitars with tunes and riffs. The tuned-down brigade couldn’t write tunes or were following the nu-metal formula and and the indie rock bands had tunes but didn’t rock!
