Other bands B-sides

#

Started by nathex1

The T? b-sides thread got me thinking of other bands b-sides & rarities. Here’s a few I like.

SOUNDGARDEN
She Likes Surprises: on the SONGS FROM THE SUPERUNKNOWN E.P. & import editions of SUPERUNKNOWN
Kyle Petty, Son of Richard: on the FELL ON BLACK DAYS single
Exit Stonehenge: SPOONMAN single
Birth Ritual: SINGLES soundtrack
Kareoke: I have this on an Australian tour edition of DOWN ON THE UPSIDE
Bleed Together: Originaly on the BURDEN IN MY HAND single, then added to the A-SIDES best of.
Kim Thayil was supposed to make an official b-sides compilation, I don’t know what happened to this. I burned one together at a friends house & called it EXIT STONEHENGE.

HELMET
Pariah: Vynil edition of BETTY
Complete: JOHNNY MNEMONIC soundtrack ( probably the only good thing to come out that film).
Disagreeable: FEELING MINESOTTA soundtrack, added to the UNSUNG: BEST OF COMP.

RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS
Lets Make Evil: MY FRIENDS single
How Strong: OTHERSIDE single & MUSIC FOR OUR MOTHER OCEAN 3 comp.
Gong Li: SCAR TISSUE single.

THE MELVINS
Instant Larry: DEMON KNIGHT soundtrack ( I think this is a STONER WITCH out-take).

MINISTRY
Tonight, We Murder: DEMON KNIGHT soundtrack
Fucked: N.W.O. single
T.V. III: THE FALL/RELOAD single.
Happy Dust: BAD BLOOD single.
What About Us?: GREATEST FITS comp.

She’s a Polititian!!!! dont forget that one.

All the Wildhearts b-sides were great, all of them could easily have been album tracks

Other ones off the top of my head:

Pearl Jam: Yellow Ledbetter
Faith No More: I Started a Joke (beegees cover)
Anthrax: The Bends (radiohead cover)
Deftones: Teething
Pitchshifter: Kerosine (big black cover)
Stone Temple Pilots: Revolution (beatles cover)

The original one was by the beegees ?? I thought it was Bob Marley :)I might be wrong, hehe.

Sikamikanico by The Red Hot Chili Peppers was good b-side. You ll find it on the under the bridge single.

Nirvana has got many good b-sides e.g. Aneurysm
I am too lazy to name them all. Buy the single Box or the LP Incesticide :P

The Bee Gees wrote it, I think David Bowie recorded it at some point as well - I never knew Bob Marley did it…

I might not make the pub quiz team after all :(

My brother hosted a quiz once at my local and he had made a note of all the questions that he was sure that the other quiz masters had wrong or that he disagreed with. And then made a up a quiz of those questions with his answers, as the quiz master is always right. How sad is that, I was not related to him that day.

Anyway I have another quiz on thursady and it’s a music quiz last time there was a music quiz me my Dad and my friend emma did it and we won free meals at the pub. We’ll shit ‘em this week.

Finally! I’ve inspired something other than contempt :D

Megadeth had some great b-sides and soundtrack rarities
99 ways to die, Go to Hell to name a few

Pearl Jam has some classic B-sides (mostly originals where most bands do covers)
Alone, Footsteps, Dead Man, Yellow Ledbetter, Wash, Dirty Frank

Metallica way back in the day- Bredfan, Blitzkreig, Am I Evil, The Prince
