Editors

Fans of Doves, Interpol (Joy Division in fact) and Bloc Party have another album they really have to buy. The Back Room by Editors. I knew them a while but now I’ve heard their album and now I want to say that I liked them from the start, that I was their very first fan because this is together with Silent Alarm (Bloc Party), Funeral (Arcade Fire) and Dirty Words (The Departure) the best album released so far this year.

Well, I think I’m going to go through your previous posts to get to know you because I think we’ve never met before on the board and I don’t know why you had to react in such a harsh way.

Just to add something, THERAPY? were an Indie band for a long long time and if they weren’t signed to A&M, Universal or Spitfire they still would be.

In fact, do you know what genre T? belong to? They aren’t punk and they aren’t metal.

I bought the Back Room and i think it’s a good album if not a very original one.You can tell their influences very easily within ten seconds of listening to any of their songs.Joy Division and Interpol fans will like this album,The Cuttings CD is a nice bonus.

Never heard of them, I take it that they are alright then? But as I don’t know what interpol sounds like I’m still a bit in the dark.

You can hear a lot of Joy Division in Interpol’s music, they’re really worth checking out as they’re not just a JD copy as Editors are an Interpol rip off.

Surprised you’re not familiar with Interpol mate. They’re class, my favourite band of the last few years.

I don’t think they are really heard of over in Australia and it took long enough for any english stuff to make it over there so I missed out. Also their radio shows have to play Australian stuff every other song, which is mainly AC/DC if they want to keep their listeners. I feel I have missed about a year and a half of British music in my absence.

Without making a too big a deal of it, we’d like to mention that ‘Antics’ entered the UK and Australian charts at no. 21 last week. So there you have it. Matador - home of the top 22 chart entry.

A cheap excuse, Simon. ;)

Fair enough, but it doesn’t change the fact that I never saw any of there albums or heard anything about them while I was there.
It’s the same with Goldie lookin chain they had no press and I never saw one of there albums while I was there but they somehow topped the singles and albums charts one week. not that I’m comparing the two groups.
