Evening Mrs H! I’m in Nottingham; staying here for a few months, popping back and forth to Birmingham depending on any good gigs and happenings.

If you mean more specifically, I’ve just been at a BBQ and realised why they are crap for vegetarians unless there is nice beer.

Both my girls and my granddaughter are veggies, so trust me here - marinated tofu, peppers and onion chunks on a sheesh kebab stick thing. Absolutely gorgeous barbecued …

I’m not that organised, people usually do me a pack of quorn burgers, and a pack of quorn sausages, which you just can not bbq as there is so little fat so they go dry and ‘orrible. Plus I feel obliged to eat 4 burgers and 6 sausages, and before everyone else has their food! I hate bbq politics. The nicest I’ve had is just loads of chargrilled veggies; especially bbqued butternut squash, mmmm.

I have to make up some kebabs next time :)
With a yakitori sauce yummy!

Any plans for the evening?

Just a quiet night in with the chap, I think. He went out for the football this afternoon, and I went to a charity all day gig thing and had a few beers so I’m not really up for more of the same!

Either way I have to get off now, I hope you both have fun nights :)

*waves, and does the Heysatan special ‘loop the loop’, which is technically far more impressive than the ‘loop the lop’*

This is not good. It’s the dress rehearsal of Romeo and Juliet and no-one is here, not even the balcony :(

It’s Gracious Me’s first birthday in 2 months and we only have an unrehearsed play, a less than experienced band and a depressed giraffe to mark the occasion…

We need ideas, people! If we are to hold a party for 2,500 WoMbles (members only, I think) then we need to make some plans.

Hanne and Ci? should do the food, for sure. And Divers, deadsetgav and Heysatan should do a comedy thing. Taunty Dan, Dennis, Marja and zipless - you just concentrate on getting the band ready to perform on the night, and Dan and Mr Ennis put some thought into costumes for everybody. Caffeinebomb - I need someone to train GBMBS, Colin?, Samanama and 30seconds to do harmonies, and they can sing “There’s no-one quite like Hooch’s Mum” in the style of St Winifred’s school choir. I will do a turn early in the evening - I will open with a rendition of ‘Jolene’, and then follow through with a selection of soul ballads, as opposed to salad bowls which are far more difficult to deliver orally. Hooch can be the clown and do magic tricks for the youngsters, and 30 and D can do a presentation speech together and go through the nominations for the Dr Who award for the least organic dog. I suspect Pete Burns to be the bookies favourite - Divers can run the book because of his death race experience. We’ll get the 666ers back in to do an aerial display in WWII aircraft, and Unrequited and Hatham can do some gymnastics and acrobatics in the marquis. Pip and White Psycho can organise everyone else into a motorcycle display team, and tubthumper can be the compere seeing as he was the first person to reply. mr self destruct is guest of honour. Igor, you’re newest which makes you the waiter :)

What else should we do?

Eeek: We need a speech for post 25000 too :S

I am indeed honoured, though I would prefer it to be a slightly more multicultural event…marja’s the only foreigner!

You could have found a place for punkwak - he’d be good at inititating toasts :)

I’m very well, thanks :) We’re going away for a few weeks next Saturday. Berlin for a few days, then Hungary and Croatia for 2 1/2 weeks :) And yourself?

: Sammy - I’m off away on Friday for 10 days (Exmoor again) and I can’t wait!! :) Partly because I love it there so much, partly because we have taken the sensible option and are avoiding the school holidays and partly because I am really depsperately in need of a holiday! :)

Damn. Punkwak - I bet there are loads of people who’ve posted on here who I have forgotten :( Ok, Punkwak can be the guy who says ‘cheers’ and also he can be a warm up act for the comedians :)
