Coheed and Cambria GAIBS4

#

Started by Krisken

I just picked up the new Coheed and Cambria album today (even though it was released the 20th), and after a few listens I’m still unsure where to place this as far as whether it’s better than the other albums they have put out.

It certainly sounds like it was polished much more than In Keeping Secrets Silent Earth 3 and Second Stage Turbine Engine. At first this bothered me quite a bit, as the guitar seemed to have lost a lot of it’s edge that was present in those albums, but I’m starting to think it was the settings in the car I just bought, as when I put it in the CD player at home it doesn’t sound muted at all.

There’s definately more of a pop influence to this album than the other two.

Anyone else have any thoughts? I think I like it, but I’m still certain that IKSSE3 was the best album they’ve put out thus far.

Like I said, the first two albums are stellar, and the 3rd one is growing on me slowly. I’m sure by the end of the week I’ll call this their best album.

This has been one of my favorite bands since I just happened to pick up Second Stage Turbine Engine at the local record shop in the Indy section.

I’m not sure if it’s there anymore, but they had a couple videos up on Launchcast for a while.

I just heard a few tracks by them and I’m rather impressed. They sound like a mixture of Maiden and Rush.
