Was Daniel lucky to win the tournament at the end?

After a somewhat unconventional training regime he appeared to be at the mercy of Bobby in the semis until his Sensei insisted that he put Daniel ‘out of commission’, and thus getting disqualified. Then in the final he used the unorthodox ‘crane’ manouvre instead of traditional martial arts skills to win.

I’ve always felt Daniel was quite fortunate to win and would have had difficulty defending his title. What do you think?

I think if Daniel went up against the teachings of a Dojo that wasn’t run by an evil man, then his under-dog qualities would hold no water and he would get the pasting he deserves.

Actually! The third Karate Kid movie was Daniel again.

Another evil Dojo guy, who was trained by the evil Dojo guy from the first movie, wanted revenge on Daniel for disgracing his mentor.
How’s that for a heavy story-line…???

KK4 was the one with the chic!

Ah fond memories of childhood looking at those movies now they were a bit shit but we all enjoyed them at the time I don’t know how I can remember Hilary Swank was in KK4 tho
