Now for a slightly bizarre dream, which I have had a few times over the last couple of years -
I dream that I’m a red tomato. I’m on a conveyor belt going past all different paintings of war scenes. On conveyor belts going the other way I see carrots & cobs of sweetcorn.
I don’t know what to make of it!!! :(

Hmmmm very odd…

Were you flicking between Ready Steady Cook and a documentary on war on Discovery Channel before you nodded off…?

The unfortunate thing is I don’t get home until well after Ready Steady Cook finishes & I don’t have Sky, so no access to the Discovery channel

I’ve also recently dreamed that I was doing the sort of things Michael Douglas did in the film Falling Down. But I wake up with a big smile on my face. ;)

Title: Weird Dreams (merged)

I thought White Psycho had a weird dream thread somewhere but I can’t find it …

Last night my sister dreamt that I had gone driving off in a yellow Reliant Robin, and that she and a friend were looking for me, accompanied by a disabled asian dwarf in a pushchair.

Can any interpreters out there please confirm that this means I am about to become ludicrously rich and may as well max out my credit cards?

Ta :)

I think it means you’re going to turn into Del Boy Trotter?

The other day I had a bizarre dream that I had two penises. One was huuuge and the other was rather little. Anyway I went to the toilet and when i used the big one I held it at the middle and it flopped down and pointed directly down into the toilet.
Like I was aiming dropping bombs from a plane if you see what I mean.

I hate that sort of stressy dream :( It’s like the ones where you are running through water - have you had those? You are trying to get to (or away) from somewhere but your legs won’t move properly. It’s horrible!

haven’t had those. With me it’s one of these things: or I can’t find the way, or I always end up at the same place, or I get there but the next second I’m back at where I started. very sadistic dreams

I had a terrifying dream last night :( I was on a big university campus and loads of suicide bombers were flying planes into the buildings. It was horrible because it didn’t seem like a dream - I really thought I was going to be killed. When I woke up I thought how horrendous it must be to actually live in a warzone. That sounds really obvious, but I spend so much time NOT thinking about things like that, or thinking about them as though they are just newspaper headlines and not really real. It hit me quite hard that some people are genuinely terrified for themselves and their families every single day :(

Last night I dreamt I’d saved this arabian bloke from drowning. Local police turned up, just after we’d got back up the bank. The police took us back to the station to dry off & get statements of what happened. Next day the police come to my door & ask them to go with, I don’t have any problems so I go. I get whisked in to the back entrance of number 10. Then Blair appears giving a slimey speech about what a brave thing I did & it showed the true spirit of the British people. He then explains that the bloke whom I’d saved was actually the Sultan of Brunei. And he wanted to give me a reward of £20m for saving his life. I try to be honourable about it & refuse his kind offer. The Sultan then says, “ah it is settled then” and walks out. His assistant comes up to Blair and myself & says “The £50m will be in your account within the next 2 hours”!!!

Last night I dreamt I found a baby at the post office but it turned out it wasn’t a baby at all, it was a really tiny black woman about 18 inches high applying for a job, so I asked her how she thought she would be able to manage behind the counter and she said she had pills she could take to make her big for a while. I told her to go upstairs to the cake factory and get something to eat, and then go and look around the sorting office and see if she thought she would be able to manage the work. I went off and it was like a different dream and I forgot about her, but just before I woke up I was back in the post office and she came in walking with 2 walking sticks because the pills she took to be big caused her to be in agony. I felt awful, even after I woke up. It was like I just thought it would be better if she was ‘normal’ and I didn’t think about the effects it might have on her :(

mrs h wrote:

Most people don’t remember much detail because when they wake up from a dream they get up and start doing stuff. If you take longer to come round in the morning you are likely to remember more.

Also, and I swear this is absolutely true because I did it myself for months when I was young, if you keep a paper and pen by the bed, and first thing when you wake up you write down what you dreamt about you will remember more and more and more detail each time. If you don’t remember dreaming then you still have to write ’ I don’t remember dreaming’, but you will start to remember really vividly after a week or so.

I know that sounds like a huge waste of time - but the fun bit is that after a while you can actually control your dreams whilst you’re in them without waking up, which is fantastic! :)

The scariest dreams I have ever had are the ones when I woke up and really believed I was awake and then something terrifying happened and I woke up again, sometimes a couple of times - by which time I was too terrified to get out of bed in case I was still asleep and anything else happened :( Have you ever had that?

I dont rerally rmember dreams and the odd times ido i always notice that their completly unrealistic, like things get mixed up, eg im stayin at my dads house and walk out the door and end up in my mums house street, and the one dream that always freaked me out was inspired by planet of the apes i think, i was in a car and the radio was on and it was playin the sorta radio 2 music and all the young monkeys were enjoying it and i was like put on something heavy and their like “err my grandad listens to heavy music”

wierd

I’ve had the one wer im sure aliens are hovering outside my window and wen i wake up and open my eyes i can see blue and red lights through my curtains and hear hovering nosies and feels so realistic, once i was so scared i ran and woke my mum up.

Yeah I know that feeling.
But I’m more worried about when I “step off of the curb” as it is happening more regularly nowadays. For those of you that don’t know, that’s what they call it when your heart misses a beat whilst you’re asleep.

@ Gimme - Aww *hugs*

It’s weird though - a similar thing happened to my younger daughter when she was about 6. Sarah was babysitting and Anna was in bed and watching this little light in the sky wondering what it was because it was weaving about instead of following a straight line and she was fine, but then it came lower and was about to disappear behind the building opposite, but instead of disappearing it came down in front of the building and hovered outside the window! She was absolutely hysterical and terrified and although I questioned her a few times about it in different ways and at different times I got back the same answers and she was adamant that she was awake …

That reminds me of something else - do you ever get that awful feeling that you are falling or crashing into something just as you are waking up or falling asleep? I hate that - and quite often it startles me awake again because I will hear either a really loud bang or a sound like someone setting off a firework right next to my ear :(
