Started by joseph?

Just listened to them for the first time. And found out how fucking amazing they are. I left it long enough to listen to them, and i thought i might as well try them as alot of people on here seem to like them. and now i think i’m about ready for an album. Which one do i get?

All of them!

Earth Vs, PHUQ and Fishing for Luckies I recon are all must-have albums,

Must Be Destroyed, Dont Be Happy are really great,

Endless Nameless is an aquired taste - yet still fantastic.

Coupled With, Landmines & Pantomines, Anarchic Airwaves and Strikes Back are all live, rareties and b-side albums - Worthwhile but get the other stuff first.

erm…not sure, id hazard a guess and say either “coupled with” or “riff after riff”.

Gavs right though, get them all! doesn’t matter which one you start with!

They’re also one of those rare bands who make really fucking great b sides. especially the singles from the first couple of albums. So get the singles as well.

GET EVERYTHING!

Thats on ‘Coupled With’ and on ‘Riff after Riff’ (US and Jap only release) as Dan said - it was originally a b-side off the Vanilla Radio single.

Again, like Dan said - there is no difference in quality between b-side and album tracks - there are just Wildheart songs!

when they released ep’s they were proper ep’s, man. none of this remix or live versions or demos malarky. The Caffeine bomb ep and i wanna go..eps were the very best i thought. Girlfriends clothes is just fucking ACE. Couldn’t believe my luck when they played it live last time i saw ‘em.

I got the Wildhearts on today at work, they are fucking great! I’ve lent my bird phuq to see what she makes of it!

The thing i loved about the Wildhearts though, that newcomers to their music will miss, is that they DID NOT GIVE A FUCK!!! Dig out some old Kerrangs!, they have some legendary debauched tales from the years!

I’ve been a Wildhearts addict (much like I’ve been a Weezer addict a little later) for a long while. I’d recommend “p.h.u.q.” and “Fishing For Luckies” for a start. “The Wildhearts Must Be Destroyed”, “Riff After Riff…” and “Coupled With” don’t do much for me and I like the B-Sides to “Endless Nameless” better than the actual songs on that album.

Anyway, has anyone heard Ginger’s new solo album, yet? I’m just halfway through listening to it for the first time and so far I think it’s the best thing he’s recorded in a LONG while. Know what? I think I’ll start a special thread for that album.

Anyway, getting back to The Wildhearts, here are some of my favourite songs by them:

Geordie In Wonderland
I Wanna Go Where The People Go
Suckerpunch
Sick Of Drugs
29x The Pain
Red Light - Green Light
In Lilly’s Garden
Just In Lust
My Baby Is A Headfuck
Do The Channel Bop
Inglorious
Can’t Do Right For Doing Wrong
Weekend
Bad Time To Be Having A Bad Time
It’s All Up To Me
Beautiful Me Beautiful You

I could go on and on and on and on…

I found most of the above interesting&amusing in equal measure. The one thing that sticks out though is they tour too frequently for my liking.I saw them at Southampton Uni with Therapy and although they were good they werent great. And ,they only played for about an hour including the encore&hardly played any new material ;unlike at the Pyramids a few years back when after enduring the truly appalling Real TV,they came on for 50mins then did a 40min encore.Having said all that they cant ever be accused of being unoriginal or taking ages between albums.I do wish they’d come&play in the Bournemouth area sometime, and Therapy for that matter!Maybe Therapy as headliners this time!

Also only 4 “proper” studio albums in 15 years.

They’ve not been shy releasing material seeing as they spent half of that 15 years split up.

Now, Wildhearts fans are usually a pretty self-sufficient bunch, so there’s very little point making this post, BUT…

They have just released a live CD of the Rock In The (fucking freezing) Castle gig from last September.

As I said, anyone who is into the wildhearts in a big way was probably there, and probably also on the mailout list so will have bought it if they fancied it. Anybody not on the mailng list probably doesn’t want it, but I thought I’d let you know anyway in case one or two of you slipped the net.

There you go.

Oh and it’s Quite Good by the way. :D
