Fuckin’ a! I cannot wait…that was fast as hell! More proof that bands like Linkin Park that do 9 months of pre-production should be smacked silly!

Still, either way, great news about the album indeed. I’m shitting myself with excitement already.

I hate bands that take forever to record albums! It’s totally unnecessary! Black Label Society, they go into the studio with no songs written and in two weeks write and record 30 fucking songs! Bands like Linkin Park seriously do pre-production for like a year. It’s ridiculous.

I can’t wait for this album!

You can diss Linkin Park for a lot of things. But Chester has got an amazing voice, there’s no denying that.

And they aren’t a produced band, they’ve just been a bit over produced, which is a whole different thing.

1.First album
2.Remixed first album.
3.Live ALbum
4.Another Version of first album - this time with added rapper
5.Second album - identical to first.

I might be wrong here but I think the whole ‘brought together by the record label’ thing was actually just a false rumour. I’m sure all the memebers of the band, apart from Chester, formed Linkin Park themselves, and they recruited Chester from the other side of the country.

Any way, fuck it. Its only Linkin Park. They pretty much such balls!

I think Linkin Park have a couple of good tunes. That put-together-by-the-record-label rumour is a load of balls though. The Sex Pistols were more of a manufactured band than Linkin Park.

That is a completely ignorant statement which is 100% false. Linkin Park began as Xero, later changed their name to Hybrid Theory after recruiting Chester from Grey Daze (a great Alice In Chains-like band) and eventually changed their name to Linkin Park. There is nothing manufactured about this band. Sure, the ill-advised remix albums are lame, but at the end of the day they’re label decisions.

And for the record, I love Linkin Park.

I haven’t bothered with LP. A bit polished like Def Leppard, if you know what I mean. Agree about the Sex Pistols bit; that was Malcolm’s doing when he wanted his own New York Dolls.

Def Leppard are my all time favorite. Don’t make me come over there!

Exsqueeze me? Does someone here LIKE Def Leppard?! Oh dear!

well i suppose therapy? don’t really like to record the album in such a short time span. the more time you got the better will the result be. i get the feeling that the last two albums (high anxiety in particular) were done a bit too quickly.

Not necessarily. The longer you take to record an album, the more things you can change, and eventually, you may be changing too many things if you know what I mean. Sometimes it’s good to have a “raw” sound, rather than it being over-produced.

I agree that High Anxiety sounds a bit too rushed. It is not necessarily the raw sound, which I liked, it is just that I have the feeling that they could have done a few more takes to really nail some of the songs.

NANE on the other hand is a great production, IMO. It is raw and full of energy, definitely, and yet, the performances are very tight, very good playing.

The only album which I think could have used less or a more dirty production is Shameless. After SPYF it was quite a disappointment. Some of the stuff sounds dead compared to what it going on on other albums.

Semi-Detached, which has tons of layers etc., I consider a great album with an awesome sound. I always kinda wish they could return to that sound someday, since there are still so many possibilites on what to do with it. I am not expecting it - I like how Therapy? always try something new for the band - but while some are waiting for a Troublegum II, a part of me is always hoping for a SD II.

Hmmm. I liked the sound on High… but it IS rushed, if you listen closely, the 1st note of Who Knows has been chopped and it sounds out of time. NANE production I thought wasn’t great, it sounds empty and sloppy, There were only 3 of them on Troublegum and that sounded MASSIVE.

I think how long it takes to record an album has nothing to do with its quality…Linkin Park have layers of electronics and click tracks and whooshy noises to put on their records. T? have 3 instruments and a voice!

Yes but Troublegum had 3 guitar parts on every track.

To me it sounds like the black album thing

Rhythm left right and centre and then solos.

Plus the guitar has a chorus effect on it.

That why it sounds massive

Im not to sure, but isnt the first note on Who Knows technically on the end of the audio track of Hey Satan? I noticed it sounds ok if you listen to Hey Satan and let it fade out as Who Knows fades in. If you skip to track 2, it sounds chopped. Maybe I’m wrong but I think I’m right!

that’s exactly the thing i’m thinking about the SPYF sound. it was the first t? album i listened too and in my opinion still the one i like best (but that’s a very subjective impression). but the thing i like about therapy? even more than SPYF is the way they manage it to make each album sound uniquely. there are very few bands that have made 10(maybe 11) albums that are all great in their own special way and all sound completely different.
so i really can’t wait to listen to one cure fits all!!
