The IT Crowd

I seen the first two episodes, and I didnt think they were that funny. Chris Morris is kinda cool…but thats about it. What does everyone else think? Black Books and Father Ted were far sharper and had better characters

I thought bits were funny, but there’s plenty of stuff that wasn’t. Definitely not as good as Father Ted or Black Books, no. I probably will watch again this week, and see if it gets any better. Sometimes a new show takes a while to find its feet, after all.

i thought it was pretty good. I think people were expecting a more, erm, “straightforward” comedy, but you don’t get that with Morris. I though he was good, i love the bloke that keeps bleeding, and i’m in love with the bird, whatever her name was/is.

I thought the double bill idea was an awful one. especially when the first episode was funnier than the first. The fire jokes were funny, as was the War On Stress, but thats about it for me.

oh i know, i’m just saying that for those that don’t know Morris’s work they might’ve been misled by the commercials.

I love Morris’s work, I dont’ think the dialogue is as well delivered by the other actors though. But I will wacth it again, cos I think it could be turned into a good thing.

The Ad wasn’t really reflective of the show, but I don’t know if the writers have much control over the advertisements? At lot of shows are making really arty ads now instead of the good ol’ coupla clips from the show style that used to be on tv

i totally agree, the ads didn’t refelct the show at all. I mean i didn’t even know Morris was in it til i saw it, but that might be the case for everybody! Ultimately, i think if you take Morris out of it the other show would probably fall on its arse. But i’d still watch it, cos of my instant love for that bird. Man she nice. :)

Kinda egg? so you mean the outside shell is horrible and then what is inside is just a disappointment!

For my sins i work in an IT department and they’ve got the “Have you tried turning it off and on?” line spot on,i just think it’s an ok show.If it wasn’t for Chris Morris i don’t think this show would be getting as much hype as it’s got.

My Name Is Earl is however brilliant and well worth setting the video for.

One of my favourite lines so far has to be when Chris Morris walks into IT, looks at the burning computer and says:

“Nice Screensaver”

He definitely makes the show watchable.

One episode of My Name is Earl was woeful though, the one with the clingy girlfriend was by far shittier than any of the IT crowd, but the rest of the series is rib-tickling good stuff

My fave was when they told him they’d modified his pc to be voice activated, and he’s banging his fists on the desk shouting “HELLO!!HELLO!!” at the screen. Marvellous.

Having seen the first five episodes of The IT Crowd so far, I’m enjoying it. It’s not exactly a masterpiece, but it makes a really, really refreshing change from the teams of Green Wing/Nighty Night/Hyperdrive-esque bullshitcoms we’ve had lately, where being dark and edgy is far more important than actually having any jokes.

Episode three was quite poor, the first and fifth were good, and I really, really enjoyed the second and fourth episodes. Fingers crossed for a second series.

Fact: Noel fielding would be able to make a cup of sick funny.

All those references to Cradle of filth were funny. “I suggest you listen to track four, it may seem like just noise but it’s actually quite beautiful”

I quite liked Nighty Nighty but yeah i think Hyperdrive and Green wing are shite too.

So far the episode with the goth has been the best episode of the IT Crowd.
