I’m not bothered about the Foo’s but if i lived near London it would be cool to see Motorhead and the Queens on the same bill.

Supported?
Fucks sakes. What’s this world coming to, when Motorhead support the Foo Fighters? Sure enough, they’re both good bands, and maybe the fact that I see them both as headliners is the reason for my surprise. Well, that and the fact that Motorhead own the Foo Fighters…

I’m sure it’ll still be a good gig though. :D

Yeah I agree but if the kids then go out and buy a Motorhead album i’m all for it! QOTSA opening? They’re stock has plummeted! Shame, cos my band sounds a lot like them (apparently). I guess we can forget about a record deal now!

I guess the Probot album is the connection between the two bands and that is how come Grohl has invited Motorhead onto the bill, maybe..?

Motorhead are still an awesome live band and are still making great records on a regular basis, so hopefully this will open some new ears up to Motorhead above and beyond the reach of Ace of Spades.

Can’t stand the Foos meself, but I have the utmost respect for the fact that, after mega-success in Nirvana, he came back with something that wasn’t a carbon copy but was his own direction and has built up a huge following independently of his previous band. Instead of it being a “hobby” band of an ex-star, it is a legitimate band in it;s own right.

Besides which, who is that sexy air hostess in their video…?

Queens are second on the bill before Foo Fighters, Motorhead will be opening if another band isn’t annouced.

:(

There is NO justice in this world!

Motorhead, after their early 80’s success when No Sleep Til Hammersmith made number one in the album charts (Can you imagine it now - A live MH album at number one?!?!), look destined to be forever the bridesmaid, never the bride.

I can see where you’re coming from with the Probot connection and I suppose you’re right actually.

1st on the bill is a bit shit for a band like MH, especially behind QOTSA, who aren’t actually that good.

going slightly off topic here, i’m amazed at the size of gigs that some bands can get away with playing. i mean, the foo’s are okay but that really is the appropriate word… “okay”. how they can headline hyde park is quite frankly rediculous. and last year, green day doing TWO nights at milton keynes bowl. it’s incredible. and most disturbingly, fucking hard-fi doing FIVE nights, yes FIVE, at brixton academy. who’s buying all these tickets?

The ticket touts, hoping that some chavette will be silly enough to pay an extortionate price for a hard-fi gig.

And about motorhead, they have been going a bit of a while now, and they are way past their prime! Sure, they’re good but they’re not much more than a greatest hits band now!
At least Queens can still churn out great, new, and original albums.

Yeah, but Queens have only been around for four albums - Motorhead have been around for 24! Bet Queens aren’t! They’re already doing cabaret by having to get ex-members in to spice the shows up!

Whats the point in agrueing about this if it was down to history the motorhead should be head lining, but sadly not Foo Fighters are very big and have asked Motorhead and QOTSA to play. At the moment the people organising the gig see QOTSA to be the bigger band and a bigger puller of tickets. From what i have heard they are both having the same amount of stage time. Things like this happen all the time it’s shit but there you go. Bad religion supporting Blink 182, Seplutura supporting In Flames, Slayer Supporting Slipknot. It’s a fickle world.

I’m not too sure about that. Saw Soulfly last night and with the new album, the show kicked major ass.

Sepultura going on tour without Igor doesn’t sound too great actually… I’m not a fan of Derrick since the magic is gone since Max left. Nevertheless I hope they prove me wrong, but to top the show Max pulled yesterday with Soulfly will be hard to do.

The last Soulfly album was a fucking corker though, and the one before wasn’t bad either.
