Rick Rubin new METALLICA producer

#

Started by Jobrok

Just read on the web that Rick Rubin is going to produce the next METALLICA album.

Don’t know what to make of this…!!!

An attempt to connect with the younger heavy metal fans, or are they really trying to make a decent album.

Either way, it’s about time they ditched Bob Rock and tried someone new. And let’s face it. They’ve milked the mainstream safe sound forabout 15 years.
And Rick Rubin is an excellent producer.

Nah it will be full of shit dressed up as anger as per usual. I only like Metallica when they arent making music. At least recently.

St. Anger contains real anger, u can be sure of that. James just got out of rehab, the band was finishing of the miserable period, you can feel that on anger.
But I’m glad they got rid of Bob too

I think they are rich enough to get anyone they want in thats why they’ve gone for Rubin - he has a great track record and its something new for them. I don’t get people who just want another black album though - why?! It was good at the time but will never work if they try and recreate it a 2nd time.

Hopefully we wont get another Load, or ST. Anger though.

Another black album wouldn’t work ? What if the songs they write came out like that ? If they’re good songs, they’re good songs.

I think it will be good. Rick Rubin in the chair, Rob Trujillo on bass ! :D Proper drum sounds and guitar solos.

It’s better than saint anger already and I havent heard it yet :D

The noises you hear in public toilets are better than St Anger.

I thought St Anger was definately the best they could have done after all the shit they had been through. Quite a brave move i thought.

Not another Black album, please!!To all the people that are waiting for another Black Album - move on! Its like people who are still waithing for the Manics to repeat the Holy Bible!! Why?? As soon as you start comparing your albums to past ones you’re not being true to yourself. I say go ahead and do as you please Mr Hetfield!

Bring it on. Sorry but Green Day aren’t all that. Well, i don’t like the album anyway!! Its not BAD per se, its just that when you’ve got Dookie - you don’t really need another album like it thats not as good. And when you’re limited in style like they are 18 songs is stretching it a bit.

limited in style ? There are quite a few styles on that album.

Pop Punk, harder edged punk, ballady rock, acoustic rock, instrumental…

i just think its a great album. better than warning any rate, which i also like.

I just love Green Day !!

And no way are they in the same category as shower of shit bands such as Good Charlotte, Bowling For Soup, New Found Glory et al !!

Sorry, but that is really funny! :D

Know what you mean though - i think its a shame that history will lump them in with crap like Good Charlotte. Green Day were here 1st. Death to poser punk!!

 I mean that not every song sounds identical. You know what you’re gonna get when you get a green day album - but Nimrod has variations. You dont expect to buy a Green Day cd and it be avant garde - electro. Thank you radiohead.
