I think’ll it’ll be a grower (could just be my speakers are a bit naff). It seems to lack the immediacy of Hey Satan or Rise Up & doesn’t sound as muscular. Possibly I should be playing it louder.
I don’t think it’s a bad song, it’s just not grabbing me by the throat in the way that the last two album openers did.
Yeah its definately a grower. i thogh it was ok when i forst heard t last night, now the only thing to stop it plyaing is the new pitchshifter song, just flitting between the two, but sprung kinda just pulls you in with an infectious groove. just woke up this morning with the riff going round in my head so i had to get up and put it on again
it’s also a lovely riff to play, yet another one of Andy’s riffs that come from the Rock stock pile but he juat mamages to make each one unique and purposeful for the song despite using so many similar patterns.
oh dear, im gonna have to press play again, why is ther no loop function on myspace so i dont have to keep pressing play.

Love this track, it sounds like Muse(the band) meets Opal Mantra(the track).
I kinda have to agree that this track does not sound like an album opener, but it could be that the MySpace and the RAM formats flatten the sound.
I kind of always play single tracks of T?, so most of the times I really do not care about the tracklistning (Infernal Love is the only one I almost always play in the order it was planned ).
Maybe it is the roughest song of the whole album and the rest of the album sounds like T?’s “Picknick of Love”. Without the irony.
(Probably the worst nightmare, I like to scare people)

erm, it’s a good tune but… is anyone else wondering why it’s called “sprung”? i know T? have a tendancy to use silly names for songs but… well. i’ve probably just answered my own question there really.
Isn’t there a use of the word “sprung” to mean “found out” or “rumbled”
e.g. “you’ve been sprung”
or did I imagine it?!

I’m thinking ” Neck Freak meets Long Distance ”
with nicer Troublegum style production. :)

I like the sound, the production and the mechanical, tight rhythm on this, probably more so than the song itself, though it does have a nice, hypnotic quality to it.
Good song, promising.
I wouldn’t enjoy a whole album like this, but the beauty of Therapy? albums is the variety of styles they can cover and still sound like a cohesive collection of tracks.
And Neil Cooper right now can do no fucking wrong in my eyes - said it before and i’ll say it again, what a great addition to the band he is!

I agree! Neil is such a great drummer. His rythms are so tight and exciting!

Nice one, Therapy?
It’s already one of my favorite T? album openers. I think the lets-start-the-album-with-a-fast-rockin-track routine was getting a bit old, so it’s a nice change!

My point is: variety is good. Not to mention that Sprung is a killer track, regardless of the fact if it’s fast or slow. It ranks up there with He’s Not That Kind Of Girl:cool:

i was thinking the same thing except it reminded me of their version of Isolation, the vocals that is.Second time hearing it,I think I may like this album much better than NANE…it never did it for me cause of the production, just too dense for my taste. The new one sounds like the production style of High Anxiety,a bit cleaner.

I immediately went over and pre-ordered the CD..fuck the exchange rate!
The song reminds me of something, (Joy Division in a way, but that’s not the one I’m thinking of), but I can’t remember what… It’s going to haunt me for a while.

it reminds me a lot of “semi-detached” stuff… and i think sprung fits with the artwork…
can we expect a semi detached part II?, who knows…

I absolutely love it - drums are hypnotic and the whole song lines you up for track 2 to rip your face off and shove it up your ass.
This album is going to rule my summer - when’s the tour?

Uh, that’s a bit of a stretch. It’s great that people are getting behind it but I can’t help but feel that I’m listening to a different song than everyone else.
